Steven Gerrard NOT GUILTY

The England midfielder Steven Gerrard was today found not guilty of affray over a brawl in a Merseyside bar last December.

The Liverpool captain was accused of attacking Marcus McGee, a 34-year-old businessmen, after a row over the music being played at the Lounge Inn in Southport, Merseyside.

The 29-year-old was out with friends in the early hours of December 29 celebrating Liverpool's 5-1 win over Newcastle.

Gerrard's five co-defendants pleaded guilty in the case, leaving the footballer to face trial alone.

He admits assault and is found not guilty. This is like the jury telling him he is lying.

I reckon Stevie me's under world connections lent on the jury. Much the same as they did to his family when he wanted to move to Chelsea.

Seriously though, he's a cult figure in Liverpool, tried in Liverpool. Did anyone think there would be any other outcome.

stevie g not guilty cos hes innocent.he threw a punch defending himself like we all are entitled to do.lets move on.
off to katar beach phuket tomorrow.in nong khai area in just over 3 weeks.
watched pool in bangkok.got a ticket for 2150 baht.ground not full.pretty low key game but got soaked second half !

This thread started life in general topics on Udon Mr. 747.

Gerrard is only a cult figure on the red side of Liverpool. what about the blue side, people that don't watch sports (there must be a few) and 27 Tranmere fans? It could have gone either way, I mean imagine if 747 was on the jury... He'd have been calling for the death penalty before the prosecution barrister even began his opening statement.

Frankly I think it was all a conspiracy... :-"
