Stolen Necklace

On 29 December, Udon police investigated the armed theft of a gold chain from a 55 year old teacher (Ban Chiang School). A man, armed with a knife, stole her necklace while she was waiting to board a bus in front of her school, then fled on his motorcycle. He later collided with a car driven by a 25 year old at the intersection of Phorsri and Thamjadee Rds. (near Wat Po) and subsequently fled in a nearby alley. When police arrived to investigate, they found the teacher's stolen chain and identification of the motorcycle's driver.
The thief is well-known to police....as he's been arrested several times in the past. He was recently paroled from prison on 8 December. Police continue their investigation and expect to make an arrest in the case.
