Sunday breakfast.

Postby TJ » December 26, 2011, 2:49 am

Quite a while ago I remember reading a food journel that reported the most popular breakfast in the U.S. was champaigne and pancakes. Maybe that was for newlyweds. Not likely to be found on Thai menus.

Sunday breakfast.

Boiled banana, beans, rice and chapatis, and OT's struggling to get that down this afternoon after last nights binge. Just made it to the fridge and noticed its full of Heinekens. That should do the trick.

Sunday breakfast.

The problem with a fry up for Sunday breakfast is that it doesn't do much to help maintain washboard abs. So, rather than give up the breakfast OT has been looking into ways of cutting down the calories. By cutting out one tomato every week between now and Christmas I should save 1100 calories. So this mornings Sunday breakfast is double everything except the tomato's.

Sunday breakfast.

Postby old-timer » January 29, 2012, 3:05 pm

There is nothing like pigging out at the breakfast buffet on offer at a good hotel. So OT had breakfast at the Sheraton, Kampala this morning. Started with the fresh fruit, muesli and fruit juices and then everything went downhill as far as healthy eating was concerned. The normal double everything English breakfast was accompanied by two croissants, a nice french baguette and a cup cake. All washed down with about a pint of Double shot Mocha coffee. I feel stuffed.
OT's going to London tonight and then around mid-week I'll be coming to Udon so next weeks Sunday breakfast report will be from UT. Nong Prajak street stalls after my run around the lake in the wrong direction.

OT never made it to Udon this week because of a set of verifocals (first set ever) and porcelain veneer for my front tooth that my angry Thai neighbour decided to chip before I knocked him out, are taking longer than expected, anyway I had a really delicious duck noodle around midday which was the first thing I ate so lets call it breakfast. I would have had eaten sooner but I couldn't drag my lazy arse out of bed:

It is one of OT's mega-threads. Once it starts going, there is no stopping it!

However, it does remind one of the thread somewhere else in that it is rather pointless, but it is harmless too.

Pointless? I think its you missing the point, as for sad, well that's surely in the eye of the beholder. My view of sadness is a post that purely criticises another without any attempt to rectify the situation and do better. :-" For me it's over the garden fence chat. You don't have to care what he had for breakfast and I suspect O/T realises that. It is just a social nicety, no different to saying, 'How are you today?" We don't really care how they are, but it's much nicer than saying 'Hello f--k face ", isn't it?

LYM Your comment aroused my curiosity so had a peep .Ruddy hell. It's not often I am reduced to expletives but ruddy hell again .66 pages and rising about what used to be an occasion for a few guys to get together, have a chat and a drink in a friendly atmosphere, culminating in the regular host withdrawing the use of his premises to the group. Can I say it again? Ruddy hell .

OT'll post on this thread, like I have with others, until OT or the moderators gets bored with it. Then I'll move on to another pointless topic that may or may not have anything to do with Udon. If people read my ramblings that's fine with me, but it's not compulsory. Even martynsnowy reads my posts and then the nutcase complains about them.

trubrit, I was actually referring to the, 'what are you having for dinner tonight thread', but you are correct on the other one too. It is mind-boggling to say the least, and posters have been running amok pro and con.
