Any chance that Home Cable would carry it?

Ray,
Here is the SuperSports site - just put in the date. That will show you what channel it is on. Then you have to hope that there is no other sporting event on that they are likely to show instead... :D Although I imagine it is on early morning so I doubt it..

If you have a decent ADSL internet connection, you may want to look here.

I've heard that most Americans watch superbowl (is that tenpin or crown green :-" ) at Harrys Bar on the ringroad.
Not being American, I don't have any interest in "Girly Rugby", but I'm sure some of your fellow countrymen will confirm or deny this ...... best bet is to ring Harry and ask.

I'll watch the replay without the breaks for the ads. Watching a live game is too slow for me. Too many interruptions.

Haven't watched a Super Bowl in years. Can't even recall who played in last year's game.

Besides, who wants to wake up at 6:30 am for that?!?!?

Thanks for the links. I got a 2-3 Mbps pipe into my home. Now, I have to get up at 2AM tonight for the preliminaries or at 6AM for the start of the game. Have never watched it on a small monitor though.
John, the game itself is often boring, a mere side show. But many watch it for
1. the first release of creative commercials,
2. the half-time show,
3. it is a test of the strength of the bond between the lady of the house and her man who along with a few of his pals would half destroy the TV watching room with spilled popcorns and beer, and shout and groan and curse worthy of primitive humans; may be the primitive humans did not curse.
4. it is a test of the nation's plumbing system as 100 million toilets would be flushed simultaneously at the first stoppage of the game to release the aforementioned beer.
Vast majority of Americans are simple people, some would say unsophisticated people, and are proud of that.
On a serious but sad note, the nation's anti-terrorist measures would be on full alert.

It will be shown on TV here (live) as they do every year. Not sure what channel though, just surf around.

Kickoff 6:30 am Monday morning.

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, American football is a real girly sport.....some folks are just clueless.....

According to The National Center for Catastrophic Sports Injury, 325 men and boys have died either directly or indirectly from playing football at the high school and college level between 1982-2008 (26 years). Direct injuries are defined as those fatalities which resulted directly from participation in the fundamental skills of football (such as tackling and blocking). Indirect injuries are those injuries that are caused by systemic failure as a result of exertion while participating in football activity or by a complication which was secondary to a nonfatal injury (such as heart failure and heat stroke).

Rugby.....lol.....someone told me it's against the rules to 'high tackle'......haha....bunch of wimps.

Here's an interesting stat for you 'numbers' freaks. The NFC has won the coin toss 12 years in a row!

I hope that's a typo mistake and should read "a few". If not it's a bad indictment of the American psyche and the game of American football, that they find watching commercials more interesting.
Personally I can't think of anything more boring than watching commercials. I hit the remote to change channels as soon as they come on.

Going to take a piss at the first stoppage of play?
Wassamatter, can't hold it for seven seconds?

I'll take any college game over any pro game every day. Can't stomach the prima dona jillionaires prancing around like very poor actors. The sport seems to be second-fiddle to the theatrics and the off-field drama.

No thanks.

Commercials are extremely expensive to run during the Super Bowl. Unbelievably expensive. As a result, companies who advertise during the Super Bowl go to quite a bit of expense and imagination to get the attention of viewers. The commercials are brand new and have never been seen before. That is why it has become a bit of a tradition to see what shows up.

Some journalists even rank them in effectiveness.

Personally, I have gotten to where I don't watch any of it -- game or commercials. I coached the game for so long (college and high school) that I have tired of it.

I agree with Texpat the university game, Canadian and American, is a superior product to professional football.

Yes, rugby players are hardier than football players but they, and soccer players, look like they are carrying around signboards with all of the ads on their uniforms. Here in the Great White North, and south of the border stretching down to Mexico, you do not see baseball, football or hockey players with their uniforms decked out in ads.

Who wants to purchase a uniform with a the name of a company on it? Why should the fan advertise for the company? Let them do their own advertising!

Look at that rugby player decked out in ads. Yikes, even the ball is covered in ads.

The Colts are up 3-0.
