The Physical Education college offers swimming lessons at no cost. Don't have exact dates, but classes should start the beginning of April. Registration has probably already started so you'll have to hurry and check it out before the classes are booked.

Also, many estates or housing developments with community swimming pools rent out their pools to private swim instructors to provide lessons at a cost. Lessons usually start in the early evening.

My son learned at an estate with a very large swimming pool and they had about 3 instructors. I forget the name of the estate but it's in the vicinity marked on the map.

my ex use to take her boy every wednesday evening 6.00 -7.00 I think it was, to the swimming pool at the Nampala Hotel..seems there was a number of thai kids there, what it was all about I am not sure, whether there was an instructor, or how they got permission was always a mystery, yet I dont think they were doing it illegally.. we just dropped him off, and picked him up...

I recall the Napoli hotel having private swimming instruction. Don't know if they still do, but may be worth looking into if all else fails.

well PG I think we're talking about the same place between Soul Bar and the airport? My daughter went to register her boy yesterday, she did so but at a cost of THB 1,200 for 10 x 1 hourly lessons. worth every penny if he eds up like Ian Thorpe aka The Thorpedo!
