There's an English version on thaivisa at http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/519 ... don-thani/
and a Thai version at http://breakingnews.nationchannel.com/h ... ang=T&cat=
both pretty much say the same thing.

OT's got a feeling you are quite right there bigsnake. I often wonder how an invitation addressed to me for a seminar or meeting with a government department ends up in the mail here in Udon as soon as I arrive. I dont have a yellow book although my Thai address is given for driving license and insurance purposes. I have got my non-O thai visas from a number of different countries and have only ever extended twice in more than a dozen years at Nong Khai. But the authorities always seem to know when I'm in Udon. I have nothing to hide, however it'd be interesting to know how they get there information. Maybe the top man in my bahn grasses me up ?

Good job the next one I get will be from Doha.

BTW, the Thai consulate in Kampala is above a tyre shop and not easy to find. True.

"All Eyes are on us as Farangs in the land of smiles.". That might be because of the international airport in Udon and the drug trafficking. It's just follow the money ... And that leads to all eyes on farangs.

It looks bad, but you should not comment on the Expat Club as it takes only one bad apple. All you who make stupid remarks should come to our meeting to really see what we are all about instead of make comments about things that you know nothing about. The Swiss man's embezzlement is the main part of the story, NOT THE EXPAT CLUB. www.udonexpat club.com

Good News. And the money of the club has been recovered, so that nobody has to pay his membership dues twice?

Seems unlikely considering what he's been arrested for.
The guy is obviously a con-man who would probably tell a few fibs if need be. I doubt if the udon expat club could carry out background checks on their board members and had no reason to disbelieve the Swiss guy until he got nicked. Then they booted him out although I don't think he'll be around for a while anyway.

The money and the books have been recovered and we have a signed document of his resignation. At no stage would we have to ask members to pay again, be reassured about that. I therefore ask that you not speculate unless you know the Facts regarding the Udon Expat Club. I you want answers then I will gladly give you the facts. The Swiss man was a problem to us, but now it is all up to the authorities to handle.

Thank you for your comments.

I would like to know more about that so I'm not one of those people who "make stupid remarks". I never even heard of this club until now. :-k

That is really good news for Your members. Please extend my warm greetings to him, should You ever plan to visit him in jail. It is xmas time and who would care about financial losses in these days?

As OT mentioned yonks ago when invited to the exclub meeting, I doubt if anyone would want to meet in a hospital around Sunday lunchtime, whoever thought it might work is not aware of much except local Thai businesses and politicians. And I am within my rights to say that I doubt the money the swiss guy embezzled from the Udon Expat club was recovered. In fact I can speculate and talk about whatever I want within the rules of this forum. Unless the udon expat club had known about their founding swiss members background, how did they collect the money and letter of resignation from him.
Two ways: you strolled into the nick and asked him for it, and he had it stuffed in his rectum ready to hand over when you arrived, I think freemasons use the same method, or he told the club about what he'd been doing before being arrested.
