taxi from Don Muang to new airport

Does anyone have recent info on the cost of a taxi from Don Muang to Suvarnaphumi, using the expressway?
Also, given an arrival at Don Muang around 9AM on a weekday, what would be the worst case travel time to the new airport by taxi.

400 bht . 60 -90 minutes

That sounds about right.

I arrived at Swampy at about 4am last year after 36 hours in transit from Pennsylvania (that's east coast USA, BTW).

There was an 8am flight to Udon from Swampy, or a 7am flight to Udon from Don Muang.

Rather than wait another hour at Swampy, we -- well OK, I -- booked the earlier flight from Don Muang.

So the family sat in the taxi for about 45-50 minutes around 5am going from Swampy to Don Muang; at that time, maybe 300 or so Baht with little traffic.

Will NOT do that again -- didn't realize how far apart they actually are, and the roundabout route necessary to take to get between the two airports.

Certainly not worth it in most cases, though I'm sure it's unavoidable in other cases. Live & learn.

We are coming over in March I have heard that Don Muang is opening March.we have booked flight with Nok to Phuket from Swampy will this now change. If so we will not make it

You need to contact Nok immediately & see what they suggest.
The plan is for Don Muang to re-open March 8th...
But TIT as to date & it is possible that there will be some sort of gradual planned return...
Only Nok will know what they are planning concerning your flight & if you find out now then maybe you can switch to another airline from Swampy if they will be operating back from DM...

According to Nok Air Web site they are operating from Swampy until 30th June so now we have time arrive Bangkok 0700 20th March fly Phuket 09.30 fly Udon 23rd March by Air Asia

in the BKK. POST afew days ago, Don Muang airport is now waiting for its operational certificate. Nokair have stated they will start flighs on the 8th March, the other airline that uses Don muang has no plans to move back as yet.Large websites are often slow to be updated. your flight to Phuket is at 0930hr. does Nokair only do one flight aday to Phuket??
