Well spotted old timer.

I was racing against the clock when I posted due to having very little credit left on my internet card. :D Worry not for I have previously completed a 25,000 word dissertation! =D>

You take care now

Kind regards

Andy

What some of you seem to be forgetting is that inorder to work ( apart from being a volunteer ) and in some of those cases a WORK PERMIT is required.
Now the lengths you have to go to get one is an onerous one. Should you be successful in getting employment at a School they will enable you to get a Work permit, and also sort out your visa.
However that normally means that you are allowed to work only at that educational establishment. Those who work inn some of the 'little ' educational tutoring places and recieve remuneration who do NOT have a work permit are playing a dangerous game insofar that eventually the authorities will frind out and your stay will probably be cut short.

While many may pooh pooh my comments as the ramblings of a stupid old man, let me tell you a short story, I am aware of one or two teachers touting their credentials around town hoping to get ad hoc employment teaching staff in companies English. This HAS come to the notice of the Governors office and those teachers will be found and their stay in Thailand at best iffy. This had come by way of a complaints from many businesses to the provincial Authorities.

Not only is this illegal and fraudulent, but also if these teachers are currently in employment in a school they are in breach of their WP and their Visa will be at risk as well. I am sure that some people still think Thailand is 3rd rate nation with little or no enforcement of the laws of the land, those people who think that under any circumstances are bound to get their come-uppance eventually, I hear stories in bars about who is doing what in what school and some people I know have little or no accredited qualifications, yet still maintain they are teaching .

Ok do whatever you want whenever, but if you are in any way not fully accredited, not compliant with the newest regulations regarding teachers, and working without a properly acquired Work permit or working without a Work permit, do not say you have NOT been warned. ME I live and let live, but there are some that deserve everything they get and more.

What is happening in Bangkok will get to Udon Thani and when it does be careful. Just a post advising CAUTION to all you teachers and aspiring teachers
