I think you've nailed the result of this one Bob! A thunderstorm has been forecast for Adelaide tomorrow though the Australians should only need less than a session to wrap up this match and the 4-0 whitewash. Four tailend Indian wickets may well only last a few overs.
Ricky Ponting looked rather nonplussed when Michael Clarke waved the arms to declare the innings soon after the lunch break ... clearly the ex Captain wanted another century and take the Series Batting Title off his prodigy

The Indians came out to play and nothing had changed. Gambhir gone after 4 overs, Stand in Skipper Sehwag had an explosive dig for 62 until his cavalier attitude skied a full toss that was clearly the worst ball of the Series with a regulation catch from Ponting. Nathan Lyon later fessed up it was probably one of the worst balls he has ever bowled! The Little Master Tendulkar, out for 13, was clearly distraught while walking from the wicket ... I guess the build up of one hundred hundreds and his lack of runs in this Series has taken its toll and he may possibly be apprehensive of returning to Mumbai. Hopefully this may spur him on to achieve a century in the ODI's. Nevertheless, the Australian supporters do recognise a sporting champion and applauded him accordingly. The day ended in disaster for India when Virat Kohli had his wings clipped and was run out while trying to protect night watchman Ishant Sharma ... though it was a particularly good throw at the wicket from Ben Hilfenhaus. Sharma and wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha have been left with the responsibility of saving the match for India.
India has to set many new records to chase down the 334 runs it needs for victory with only 4 wickets intact. The highest ever run-chase at the Adelaide Oval was achieved more than 100 years ago, when Australia scored 315 against England in 1902. The world record belongs to the West Indies, who made 418 against the Aussies in Antigua in 2003.
Neither of those marks are likely to be troubled now. Game, Set, Match and Series to the home team.
Australia certainly has some talented young players gaining Test Match experience and blending with the old timers of Ponting, Clarke and Hussey, together with a Cricket Australia squad of 25 contracted players to give depth to the First XI. The signs are good for the future of the Australian Cricket Team and particularly regaining world status ... the Indian Cricket Team seems to be on a downward spiral, certainly playing away from the sub continent dust bowls, and a rebuilding phase appears to be imminent. Good luck trying to replace Dravid, Laxman and Tendulkar!
Can't wait for the Ashes ... Bring It On!
