According to the article, Thai Air is offering a promotion on many of its routes, including the Bangkok Udon route. One way fares for 2060 baht, supposedly all inclusive. The promotion runs until 31 March.

Quite disappointing. This monthly renewed 'promotion' is run uninterrupted since years. Before the price difference has been more nice. Official (website, hot deal) price 2300, cash price at travel office or the airport or Thai Air offices 1790 Baht (example, one way UTH to BKK). This month it is 2195 web to 2060 cash...

And to make it all legal: the promotion tickets can not be changed in date nor given back. The normal ones you can change the flight.
