Sorry Aardvark I should have asked also if you bought the tickets at the airport, travel agent or online.

Hi.
Came back from holiday. Went to BKK a.p. on Sat morning last month, Bkk to Udon, 2.500B with Air Asia, going in evening, and at Thai Airways desk their price was 2,400B for the 1330Hrs flight, think that was the time, which I took.Did not want to spend 6Hrs at swampy.
You can get a slightly cheaper rate online

Hi,
747, I did think of this way but when I rang them, on the Sat., Nok Eco fare, 1,114.02B they quoted, for the 1700Hr flight. None of these seats left, the next was Nok Flex at 2422.43B or Nok Plus at 2,609.35B. Did not fancy going to D.M. and waiting, plus the extra B and time to get there. Just my experience.
Could not book in advance as I was not sure when I would be arriving in BKK.
By the way if you think that this fare is a rip off. I flew from the Isle of Man to Man. A.P., about a 100mile trip, about 35mins. Cost was 74GBP About 3,550B, one way.

Thanks Aardvark
Just checked online and price shows 4,675B, don't think I'll get it any cheaper going to the airport.

I just had a look at flights in December between BKK & UTH on the Thai website http://www.thaiairways.com

Thai currently have eight different fare types available, there being six economy and two business fares.

If a return flight is booked the fare is slightly lower (by 50 or 55 THB) than buying separate outbound and return tickets, costs from the website including taxes for one way BKK-UTH and return BKK-UTH-BKK were:

Economy
    1. Hot Deals – Single 2,365, Return 4,675
    2. Saver – Single 2,535, Return 5,015
    3. Saver Plus – Single 2,710, Return 5,370
    4. Flex Saver – Single 2,885, Return 5,720
    5. Flex Saver Plus – Single 3,055, Return 6,060
    6. Full Flex – Single 4,215, Return 8,380
Business
    1. Royal Silk Flexible – Single 4,345, Return 8,635
    2. Royal Silk Full Flex – Single 5,515, Return 10,980
You should take note of the restrictions on changes to booking and refunds in the event of any changes to your trip if buying anything other than a “Full Flex” ticket – the risks of not being able to change a ticket or obtain a refund increase as fares get cheaper.

In some cases it is possible to mix the type of fares within a class when booking.

You could consider Air Asia.
We did, but their extra charges for luggage (if you have more than 15 kg) made it cheaper to go by Thai, than AA, even if the base AA price is less.

Online is always more expensive than at the travel agents or the airport. To the OP: currently there exist two prices. Monday to thursday (or friday, not sure) is 1,800 something one way. Weekend is 2,400 something one way.

Hmmm.....not sure that statement is correct Techland - particularly in relation to travel agents. :-k

For the middle flight on TG next Monday, their online fares are ฿2365 - 4215. The two travel agents I looked at show 3530 (Mox Travel) and 3400 (Saveflights).

Have looked at both AA and Nok, but they get in to BKK in the am, my outbound flight isn't til 8:30pm. I'm looking at Thai for UTH to BKK and AA BKK to UTH, cheaper than Thai return and I don't have 15kg to worry about.
