Hong Kong police have arrested a 24-year-old man allegedly involved in the murder of a Thai sex worker last week.
Senior Superintendent for Crime Leung Ka-ming told reporters late Wednesday that police believe the ethnic Chinese suspect was "directly involved" in the murder and robbed the sex worker after the killing.
The 38-year-old Thai prostitute was suffocated. She was the third sex worker slain in three weeks and the fourth in two months. The three other victims were beaten and suffocated.
Leung said the suspect arrested Wednesday was allegedly linked to one of the other killings but didn't give details.
Police spokeswoman Michelle Lau said it wasn't clear if the man had been charged.
Four prostitutes were killed in March 2008 in Hong Kong. An unemployed Pakistani man was charged for the killings and the court case is continuing.
