Do I try to change the way Thai's do things, no, I would like to try but I wont. Do I pay my bills, yes, do I upset Thai people, not often. This thread is about a smartarse that would'nt pay and got wacked, Thai's do that to Thai's as well, he took a risk that I would'nt, the same happens all over the world if you carry on like that.
If my family and myself felt threatened I would go straight to the airport and leave, I came to this country because I wanted to, nobody forced me to come, if you dont have the street smarts and want to rip locals off expect a problem, it is entirely 'up to you when visiting this country how you behave and how you survive'.

Thailand - dangerous for farang?

Postby rct » February 5, 2012, 5:51 am

http://www.phuketgazette.net/archives/a ... 12207.html

Story about four Swedes and Thai driver killed instantly in a Phuket crash. Unfortunately stories like this in the Phuket Gazette are rather frequent.

In a bit of irony, the photo of the destroyed Tolyota Altis is shown at top, then the article states
"An examination of the Altis wreckage revealed that airbags had deployed."

Phuket has had several high profile murder cases involving farangs in the last couple years, both as victims and a few farang or foreigners were the murderers. The place seems to attract all types.

Reminds me of when Thai Immigration changed the requirement to only allow 90 days stay during a 180 day period unless one has a visa. This was, I believe, after the presence of John Mark Karr was discovered in Bangkok, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexis_Reich . Read that, consider some of the strange farangs one has seen around in this country, then ponder Farangs in Thailand, if dangerous for Thais?

Anyway, just posting for a bit of entertainment and current events.
