Actually, the peasants got their first taste of what they were entitled to in the early to mid-70s through the Peasants' Federation of Thailand. However, some 28-30 peasant leaders from around Thailand were assassinated as the government responded through the efforts of the village scouts, nawaphon and the red gaurs.
