I have noticed that all restaurants in whatever city claim to have the 'best breakfast'

How many times have you seen the advetisement "The Best Breakfast In..........(Insert Bangkok/Pattaya/Phuket/Udon)"

My vote goes to Mojo's

Bacon(or ham), eggs (2), hash brown potatoes, fried tomato, real coffee and free refill - all for 99 baht

Hard to beat.

I always find that judging what is the best breakfast comes down to personal choice and taste, but the first thing I always look for before I even enter an establishment is how many other people are actually eating there.
Therefore my choice in Udon would have to go to Irish Clock, always busy and good value for money. :D

It is CERTAINLY different strokes for different folks. As an American, fried tomatoes are something to be left on the plate along with the beans after I have finished everything else that is edible. Brits have no idea what GOOD smoked bacon is. They call fried pork bacon and rant about how bad the streaky bacon is.

Best breakfast for me, 2 slices of whole wheat toast spread lightly with vegemite and topped with poached eggs, orange or tomato juice and coffee or tea. All cooked and eaten at home.

Paul,

If Mojo's do a breakfast like the previous owner used to do it, then that's a winner in my book.

If you get all that for 99 baht that's great.

The Irish Clock spread ain't bad.

one problem with smoked bacon, it repeats on me all day it repeats on me all day, in other words it makes me "Burp" and the aroma of the smoked meat lingers on that "Burp" for the rest of the day...so no smoke bacon for me thanks.

A good Brit-Style breakfast : 2 eggs fried, 2-3 Rashers of quality (un-smoked) Bacon with a little fat round the edge, 2 quality sausages(not the tasteless processed tiddlers that are served in some hotels and passed off as sausages), a few Mushrooms, Tomatoe, good cuppa T/coffee (i think the irish clock do a free re-fill too), slice toast with jam/honey. Hash Browns and beans and home fried potatoes if you are extra hungry.
and coupled with a reasonable price too.

And agree on "The best" breakfast/food, this that and the other claims....still they are not going to say "The most Average breakfast in Udon" lol, its all personal opinion, unless its real bad and under cooked of course. :D

Look forward to a few having it and giving some write ups. (photos)

This is what I would say is a good English breakfast at the Pig & whistle Patts, not cheap at 150B but similar quality at say the Rising Sun and Pappa Johns, Jontiem could be had for less dosh.

I prefer some good quality Meusli and fruit myself or maybe a Spanish tortilla.

that is what i would say is a good'un too,but would'nt eat it everyday maybe once a week would suffice.

ok sam from down-under you have some good guidlines for "the best" breakfast by far(in udon).

though re-reading your original post you don't mention what type of breakfast you are talking about you may have actually been talking about a bowl of cornflakes,Fresh Bagels or some croissants and coffee or even Khow Tom. ! . :)
