I was there. Dreadful to think of a 1 year old boy toddling around and putting his hands in that filth.

He's a septic tank who used to eat in Dieter's quite a lot.

Quite tall, grey hair, early 60's. Likes to use complimentary Internet services around town without actually buying anything.

Jeremy,

Fair play to you for keep your cool with the guy who spat in your court yard! Im afraid if it was me I wouldnt have been able to and he would have been made clean it up before he left.

Your comments about trying to make a living and constantly having to defnd the library really hit home with me. If somebody has a complaint and you are there I dont understand why they wouldnt have a quick QUIET word with you and give you a chance to fix their perceived problem before they go all keyboard commando and disrespect your place. Fair enough if they complain and nothing is done about it then post away.

I havnt been to your establishment but Im looking forward to your mexican night when i do arrive in December plus buying some good reading material!

Good luck with everything

Ah a problem with a so-called Brit, I agree no wonder we get a bad reputation. I for one have used the Book House on many occasions.
1. I have never found a Jeremy unhelpful, oh sure he can be busy chatting to other customers how he does that is his business, to have a go at him is blatantly insulting.
2 I have never found his staff to be unhelpful.
3. His food is always good, not to everyone's taste but that is life isn't it. If you speak to jeremy or his wife they will assist your culinary desires if possible.

Customers who use this means as a way of expressing their dislike, distaste or generally wish to complain about jeremy's establishment are out of order. Jeremy will ALWAYS speak to a customer if he has a complaint, one may get short shrift if your complaint is unjustified, that is understandable. ( If Thai customer they can speak to Nok )

So in fact Tomboy and others , get life and stop harassing a man who is trying to provide a pleasant environment for others and make a few dollars along the way. As for the man who spat on the ground, I would make him lick it up, but I suppose there are those amongst us who have only recently moved on from a cave dwelling and assume that all so-called third world countries lack basic hygiene . WRONG

BEFORE ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING, I DO NOT GET ANYTHING FROM JEREMY FOR THIS POST,THIS IS JUST MY PERSONAL VIEWPOINT. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT , TOUGH.

I, for one, hope the complaints continue - only because I enjoy reading Jeremy's calm, reasoned, literate and spirited defence(s). =D>

Disclaimer: I have been to the BH on one occasion, and enjoyed my Aussie burger - although I would have liked a little more beetroot. :D

I think Jeremy can be a little distant sometimes. Of course he has his own close circle of friends (sometimes wish I had one). I have always found him polite if somewhat rushed about. I give him top marks.
His food is generally spot on although I forgot to mention on my last visit that I do liked my vegetables well cooked.
There are always ill mannered yobs who frequent restuarants but I'm sure he can handle them with diplomacy.
All in all I would give the place a good reference =D>

Jeremy...I think you have a very nice operation...I don't think you need to explain yourself to some a**ehole like tomboy...I especially like the fact that you will deviate from the menu to satisfy the customer...I am anxiously awating Mexican food day...Keep up the good work and I'm sure you will have a nice following.

I would certainly take issue with that comment. Anytime I have eaten there, Jeremy (and Nok) always stop by to say hello no matter how busy they are. Once he even commented that I had not touched the baked beans on my breakfast plate (having licked the plate clean of everything else). I told him I was not fond of baked beans and he told me next time to just tell them and they would substitute for the beans. That kind of attentiveness is possibly one reason his business is an apparent success.

The man is running a business and doesn't advertise a floor show with your meal. \:D/ Is he supposed to run around in a clown suit and a seltzer bottle and do juggling acts at your table? Hmmm, on second thought...... :-"

Jimbo
Maybe you didn't understand my post.
As I've said I would recommend the restaurant any time. Never did I suggest Jeremy was impolite. In fact the few times I have spoken to him when he's not busy running around looking after the customers he has been more than amiable. If you want to make derogatory remarks against me then I suggest you send PM

Please Jimbol, don't give him any ideas! I would not be able to eat having him doing something like that. And it would be good food wasted. :-)

I had breakfast there one day last week.

I never expect Brit-run restaurant to have grits in stock, but it sure was good!

Well,I 'm pissed off at the Bookhouse!Ate there today, inside because there was a flood falling from the sky!The food was excellent and everyone was very nice,BUT,I waited in the car for about 30 minutes, right in front, and the damn Doorman with a large umbrella and a boat, never showed up!!!!!

What kind of service is that?????I am reconsidering my patronage of that establishment!!!Oh yeah,I have a 900 baht book credit, maybe I''l wait a while before I tell you how I really feel :-# :-# I might even give them another chance next Saturday ,at the ''get together'',to make amends.

Oh yeah,I should mention the Jeremy allowed 4 chess players to exclusively ''hog'' the outdoor table that I wanted to sit at,so that is another complaint and there was no place for my little doggy to take a pee either!
