Librarian, I've just been checking my map to see where you are. You must be near Roy Suk Mansion.

I must book in a visit when I next come into Udon. I'm a coffee lover, as well as read the odd volume.

With the computer it's useful to be able to catch up any emails whilst away from home.

So I think I've got that covered, chapter & verse. :D

About 30 meters past Ruy Suk (towards Nong Sim Park) but on the opposite side of the road.

Well today we did a spot of browsing at The Book House & Coffee Shop. :D Thanks for the directions Sean.

Jeremy has got the inside of the book shop set up and well presented, with a good range of books. Outside there are a variety of tables and seating arrangements laid out in the terrace area to utilise the shade at various times of the day. We enjoyed a cafe latte each, and the young one indulged in an iced chocolate.

Whilst I had a look at the books, GF and daughter marvelled over young Oliver, whom they wanted to take out on permanent loan!! :D

It looks like Jeremy has got everything covered very nicely, with fans on the way, and blackboards being put up to show the special menus. I'm sure he'll have volumes of customers. :D

Dan Brown _

any Dan Brown fans here ?

i have just got a hardback copy of his latest book.. the lost symbol
priced at UK 18.99 pounds  .. it is quite expensive in the UK
once i have read it . it goes on the shelf for 220 baht !

i,ll reserve it to the 1st poster that says they would like a read :D

i wont buy new copies from my supplier till it gets printed in paperback at a much more reasonable retail price , which may take a while

Not sure whether Udon has Dan Brown fans, but it certainly has its share of conspiracy theorists :D

I do like a read of Dan Brown :D "The Lost Symbol" has a big reputation to live up to, let's hope it can. I have been meaning to buy it here in Oz, but like the U.K. it's a bit on the expensive side ($35) so might wait a small while till the price comes down =D>

time for an update , :D .. things have been moving along nicely here at the Bookhouse and Coffee Shop .
most of the building works are now complete. just a few twinkly lights to wrap around the tree in the courtyard and some spotlights here and there .
need to get the big tvs connected up and the outdoor speakers connected .

Food @ the bookhouse

the kitchen is now up and running

from traditional breakfast fryups - to omelettes , beef steaks and gammon , beef and ale casserole , pies , cheesy chips , toasted sandwiches and much much more .

our 160baht Bookhouse Breakfast includes .
2 bacon , 1 sausage , mushrooms , saute potatoes , 2 fried eggs , fried bread , baked beans , slice of black pudding , fried tomatoe , slice of toast with jam / marmalade , glass of orange juice and a mug of tea or cup of coffee to wash it all down with .

for those with a lesser appetite we have a super saver breakfast @ only 99 baht .

Drinks - the beer cooler is now fully stocked along with a range of shakes and cool non alchaholic drinks

its a nice enviroment to sit and eat just away from the city centre with usually lots of easy parking.

Books - just had another delivery of about 700 new titles .

Newspapers - dont forget you can sit and read your daily newspaper free of charge or bring your laptop and connect up to our 3MB WiFi internet connection.
