As with other successful new enterprises here in Udon , there are always going to be " Knockers " and i think we have seen that the majority of posters will support these new businesses not only with their own visits, but also on here as well.

Clearly a bitter and twisted once off visitor, ( not customer ! ) who happened to drop in and attempt to ruin a family day out with his so called friends, who still accompany him around the traps.

Im sure the vast majority of people in Udon have been extremely happy with the new eateries , selection and professionalism that these places are providing.

They arent hobby shops, but full retail premises with a business plan and appear to be successful.

Holiday - Celebrations

Postby Librarian » September 5, 2010, 10:44 pm

Mrs L , Baby Oliver , and moi :D have just booked a much earned / needed / deserved family holiday .
we are spending a week in a nice family seaside resort .. where Mrs L can relax on the beach , Baby O can splash around in the Sea , and i can read a book or 2 and defend myself here on the Forums ;)

the business will remain open for business as usual , under the managerial , watchful eye of our friend , Richard and his lovely wife ( with many years of catering experience in Koh Samui )

this is the first family holiday we have had since Olivers birth over a year ago and one we are so looking forward to :D

i sincerely hope that all our regular customers , understand the need we have for this family break and are generous in there expectations of what to expect in our short absence :D

on our return - we will be launching our Mexican Weekly Food Specials :D .

the dates of our holiday are Sunday 19th September - till Saturday 25th September . ( WOO HOO its soooooo exciting ! :D )

thanks

Could not have been a Brit as we use the two fingered salute, and he seemed to have a chip on his shoulder about the British.

Enjoyed ourselves at todays Sunday Lunch, my wife met Nok and Jeremy, and my Grandson enjoyed his Pizza and Ice Cream.

Pity that guy ruined your day, but laugh as your doing so well in Udon.

What did he look like? :-k

and in fairness, the list of troublemakers who have visited this particular place of business already
encompasses many nationalities. it's a sad statement on the farang condition that 1 out of 50 of
us seems to routinely make problems. i used to go here often when they were somewhat less well-
known as it was always a friendly location but as with most places with lots of farang traffic these
difficult people make everybody tense and unsure of how the next customer will behave. not an easy
place to run a show here but i don't suppose you're left with any options but telling folks they're not
welcome to return when they act so horribly. hopefully there's enough decent folks on the other side
of the scale to keep the general experience positive for the hardworking staff at this restaurant.

The guy in question was wearing a bright orange "Hawaiian" shirt.
I noticed the shirt first of all, and then the finger sign, which I thought was strange.
Then back to my lunch.

He used to go in Dieter's a lot about 4 years ago. He always seemed okay then, though.

What did he give you the finger for?

Jeremy you should invite that turd to come back at the next monthly get together. It would be entertaining to watch him go off on one of his rants. Then you wouldn't have to do juggling acts to keep your customers entertained. :D

On a more serious note, if he's been in Udon 40 years he must be of an advanced age and his behavior sounds like early onset Alzheimer's or some other form of age related dementia.

Highly amusing, Jim!

Now, let's get back on topic! ;)

Has anyone else tried the chef's salad there?

It comes with a good cheddar, mouth wateringly fresh prawns and a range of dressings, from classy and contemporary to classics like Heinz Salad Cream.

Noshtasic!

It's been pointed out to me that a previous post may have been slightly misleading.

What I meant was that I think the breakfasts here are great but that you can only get grits in TJ's.

Of course I wouldn't expect a Brit joint to stock grits!
