THESE CHEAP CHARLIES , ARE SAD PEOPLE

YO...........WTF...........i ain't that bad..................................YET

stopped in today, just for an iced coffee, basically killing time. curiosity run, after a stroll over by NPJ and still time to kill, as better half was hanging out with sis for a while. nicely done little courtyard in front, various sitting areas, shaded/not/bench/chair/softer version chair/sofa. coffee was tasty, even with my diminished taste buds, slowly coming back to normal. menu looks very nice, though think they had 160 baht stuck on the brain, as most meals, with exception of beef and salmon, are all 160 baht, but all sound very nice and filling. will definitely give them a try for lunch one of these days, when taste buds are up to par, maybe another week. Mr. L was relaxing, trying to, and Mrs. L was trying to work, in between me trying to chit chat with her about pies/cooking/menu. background music was not intrusive, well, in the courtyard, though when Mr. L came down some time later, he immediately changed it, as it was little techno, think the drum machine might of been resonating a bit too much upstairs. though not my usual, but actually sounded ok, (yes Paul, i actually said that) and drowned out the traffic, without being intrusive.

the reading material/books, well, if you can't find something to your liking, then you are brain dead, and/or extremely eccentric   , as the selection is huge and varied. something deeply needed in udon.

best of luck, and shall return and check out the menu, hopefully before month is out. =D> =D> 8)

that was quick, taste buds are coming along nicely, and........well....got to eat anyway. undecided, so back to BH & C, test out the cottage pie, Ree went with the Beef Ale Casserole, :-k , tender slice of beef and mushrooms in nice gravy, w/mashed and veggies. my pie was as expected, though not in the usual casserole dish i'm used to, though had it before this way, meat/veggies/gravy w/mashed on top, and side order of :-k mashed or chips, ok, more mashed pot. both were tasty and very filling, a good value for your baht, price, yes, 160 each. a water and tip, and nice filling meal, good value. as i reported the other day of another venue, use of large plate, again, BH & C using a large plate, but this time, quite full, as i was the same when departing, stuffed.

Hi,

I've just finish a book from Ken Follet. And I want to read more books from him.
Do you have any books from Ken Follet, maybe "the pillars of the earth"?
And how much does it cost?

thanks:-)

Had the worst chicken and vegetables that I've eaten in Thailand. I'm sure it was a frozen dinner that was cooked in a microwave. Reminded me of a frozen TV dinner only worse. Literally could not bite through one of the "steamed" carrots, and the chicken was tough, the mashed potatoes like gruel. I love the books but no thanks for the food.

Hi Tutone ,

sorry you didnt enjoy your meal - after 5 months of being open for business , yours is the 1st complaint and as such , one which we take seriously .
i have asked the chef and my partner Nok , if there were any complaints and they are unaware that any customer was not satisfied , or did not fully eat the food served .

i will take your critiscism on the chim and apologise if you were not happy in anyway , and further , offer you a free meal if you dare to give us another chance ? =D

also you are correct , the chicken dishes we serve ,, Coq au Vin and Chicken Chausseur are indeed taken from our freezers and microwaved ,

the reason for this is , they are casseroles that take about 3 hours to slow cook in the oven . and i am sure most of our customers wouldnt like to wait if we cook it fresh on order .

anyhow , tell us what we can do to make things right and you a happy customer and we will try our best to accomodate you

Thanks

Anyone who eats in a restaurant and doesn't like the food but doesn't complain and does pay is a complete arse in my humble opinion.

Either that, or they consider said establishment to be a superior competitor.

Malice will get you nowhere in the long run, only a better product offering can do that.

I refuse to pay for samey food and for some guy to drive to Makro.

The Irish Clock and The Book House get all of my business.
