I don't see an American flag on the site page and it says ''English paperback books''!Makes me think that they might not be selling books from American authors!????????

I don't see an Australian flag on the site page. Doesn't bother me. I know that they mean English language paperback books. :-"

Yeah, no American, Australian or Canadian flags are shown. Flags are from (l to r) Germany, Sweden, Norway, Russia, France, Spain, and UK so must stock books from all of those places? Probably just showing that they are an internationally oriented business. Maybe the owner will explain his real motive? Or maybe not, his choice. :-k

Russian and Spanish? Probably won't be selling many of those tomes.

Hello Fellow Udonites :D

Flags Flags Flags ~

no real reason why we used the flags apart from showing we are an international bookshop with many languages available .. in both paperback books and newspapers ! .

my brief to my graphic friend who designed everything for me was just pick any flags of his choosing to show a variety of languages .

newspapers are FREE at the moment .. we have the Sun , Mail , even some Spanish and Russian ones * .

come and have a browse .. everyone welcome ;)

Congrats on the opening, will definitely drop by for a browse.
Take no heed from the other members on this forum who seem to have nothing better to do than moan about the most miniscule of things. Anyone with half a brain could see the flags were to show you have international books, and to be honest the British flag is there so what's the need for any other to show you have ENGLISH language books.....................lol
Good luck in your new venture.

OK something funny to break the tension. Chris Rock said about childhood literacy. " If a kid can't read because the lights is off its daddys fault but if the lights is on and the kid can't read its mommas fault". :D Good luck with your shop.

Only a real idiot would make that kind of statement. It was meant as humor (humour for the poms). Get it now? lol

Aye, congrats on your opening, Librarian. Always looking for a place to buy a good English LANGUAGE book.

although when the building works are finished i will try for a few weeks to open till much later and see whether there is any trade .

the bookshop is FULLY open now - electricians have finished putting in extra lighting .

still waiting for account to get the computers online inside the bookshop ( free for customers )

and need a few sockets so i can plug in the water cooler etc.

Actually my neighbor,Virginia,a customer of yours in both Pattaya and here, called me to let me know your name, about your cute little new baby, your marvelous personality and your good selection of books, both new and used!

So my comment about the flag and wording about the website page was only a thought from first impression from looking at it,Kind of a questioning joke that should have sported a joking emoticon  Of course w/o it,one gets to illicit name calling like ''idiot'',thank you very much for your contribution
K or B :(
Since ,between Virginia and myself contributing about 600-800 paperbacks to Harrys and FZ's book stock in 2-1 swaps, one can see that we have been avid readers and book collectors in the past and present and I will be visiting your shop Saturday ahead of the NM get together, although I still have several unread books at home!

Best of luck on your venture, and I hope Udon will be supportive enough for you to last here :D

My dear departed Daddy once said to me:
Son, you'll never be alone...as long as you have a good book to read.
