Thanks, we're pleased you like it.
I tried the airport today and they looked at me like I had 3 heads when I enquired. I got a copy from the downunder bar. Well done lee and team.
Thanks Wokka. You know one of the most difficult aspects about creating a publication like this is finding willing businesses wishing to display it for us. Yesterday we visited the Shopping center information counter, after a rather lengthy conversation explaining what the magazine was about and who it was for, they agreed to place them on their counter. We passed the information counter 30 minutes later only to find that they had hidden them out of view of the public. We asked them why and they said the owner of the complex doesn't allow publications like this to be displayed. They advised us to book an appointment with the owner to discuss the matter further. The same goes for the airport, we have given free copies to the information counter, TAT etc, and all immediately hide them under their counters, maybe they think the mag contains top secret information LOL! The limousine office refuse to display them, so the next step is to track down the people in charge of the airport to see if we can get help there.
It really is a challenge to display the magazine in Udon, even the top hotels aren't willing to display it, but are more than happy to hide it under their counters.
Is it online like the Daily Mail?
Hopefully soon!
I am wondering if the magazine will become an eventual replacement for the fold up map. Surely the two cannot be sustained together ???
This isn't the plan; they will continue to be published as separate publications. There is still a waiting list to advertise on the map. IMO people enjoy both, also the folder map is larger scale and easier to read.
Some sponsors like to advertise in both; and some prefer just the one advertisment, but this is fine by us. Advertising is not expensive, 1,000 baht for two months on the map and starting at 390 baht for 3 months in the magazine.
We've designed the magazine in a way to make it affordable to all i.e. it costs 790 bt for a full colour advert in the accommodation section which includes a marking on the map and free webpage, this works out at 9 baht per day for 3 months.
