The FBI says Adnan Shukrijumah is a dangerous al Qaeda operative, but his mom, who lives in Miramar, Fla., says he is kind, loving, and caring boy, the Florida Sun Sentinel reported late Friday.

Federal officials in the United States say the former Broward Community College student who spent 15 years in South Florida with his mother and five siblings is now head of global operations for al Qaeda.

In that capacity, Shukrijumah is allegedly in charge of planning attacks on the U.S. and other western countries, a position once held by Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who was captured in 2003.

MIAMI – A suspected al-Qaida operative who lived for more than 15 years in the U.S. has become chief of the terror network's global operations, the FBI says, marking the first time a leader so intimately familiar with American society has been placed in charge of planning attacks.

The enemy is definately living among us in our Western homelands, this is particularly so in the UK too. It is absolutely despicable how just about anybody can settle in the UK, (legally or illegaly). With scant immigration regulations and such a PC obsessed population these terrorist cells can thrive. What is becoming more worrying is that with all of the indoctrination and the adaption of the Koran to suit their fanatical hatred and jihad against the Western world, these hateful preachers are also finding it increasingly easier to conscript their new army of young terrorists from Asian Muslims born, bred and living in West. This is breeding contempt, mistrust and hate among Brits et al in their homelands and leading to a Nationalist state.
Speak to any ex-pat now living in Thailand and one of the main catalysts for their moving here is usually that they are sick and tired of having their homeland handed over to foreigners. It is a shame that a small fanatic minority can cause this mistrust, as essentially the Muslim religion is based on a peaceful co-existance however more and more from this religion are following the teachings of the 'false' Koran to satiate their hatred of the West.

"sick and tired of having their homeland handed over to foreigners"

Personally, I've always been rather proud of the US's immigration policies. No question, there are illegal immigration problems in the US. But the diversity of the legal immigrants is what makes the US what it is (I suppose that's up to you to decide what that is).
You can take the flip side of the coin and see the opposite effect in Japan, or even here. Lots of foreigners.......but we've no say in anything of any importance in how the country is run.

Same same for me parrot - except applying to Oz of course.

And had absolutely nothing to do with me moving to LOS. In fact, I can't think of a single Aussie here that has moved because of "our homeland (being) handed over to foreigners".

But I can imagine a lot of Thais thinking that way - perhaps with some justification. :D

but my question is why???
From where comes this hate????
This guy studied in the US.
He had a good life.
from where comes the hate to do this?
he wasn't brain washed, he went to college, had a normal life
did this hate grow from his believe, from the Islam
or was it more a reaction against the US and the Western (christian) world that took over his homeland or what???

It seems that most of these "homegrown terrorists" do get radicalised while at university...it can be quite scary if you let it...they are very much in the minority...but I would never consider that for moving to thailand...it's really down to the fact that I prefer the option of thailand for growing old :D
