Gees,I am getting excited about visiting the Western Pub,but the talk about the mossies is planting doubts! Are they a constant bother or just seasonal?

BKKStan, prior to my marriage I used to visit Western Pub at least weekly if not more often. Always had a good time - even bought a 10-gal. Stetson to fit in with the crowd. Don't recall ever having a problem with mossies though. \:D/

I was at a wedding yesterday and on our way back our nominated driver that had been on coca cola all day fancied a beer as not too far from home so we stopped off here. I was really impressed with the band. They took requests and when my g/f requested "More than I can say" by Leo Sayer I didn't think they would know it but far from it, they did a great version of it. My favourite song of the night was "Stairway to Heaven." One of my all-time favourites anyway and they more than did it justice.

Kudos to these guys for singing a wide ranging set in what isn't their native language. A great night and highly recommended. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

I've only been once, about 18 months ago, and that was enough for me.

My g/f and I went with an "up market" Thai couple and so I bit my tongue, as I did not wish to cause offence (it was their suggestion) so had to sit there for around 2 hours!

I can't remember the temperature of the beer (in fairness, I think I would of if it had been warm), nor do I recall any problems with mossies!

What I do remember is sitting in (almost) total darkness and watching/listenening to an awful duo, attempting to render country, which I must admit is not my bag.

Moving on, though, when they switched to rock their, guitar skills became remarkable.

Remarkably like the Clapton stuff I have on my laptop - Not just similar, but identical.

I wonder why that was?

What is hope??????

I didn't have a problem with the volume of the music, which I have to admit, although not my cup of tea, was good.
What I did have a problem with was the staff clapping hands next to my ear, making it impossible to have a conversation.
