This Week's Shopping Deal

I agree most of these so called offers are on totally overpriced products in the first place, if you want bargains go to bangna towers in Bangkok.

Not so much a deal, as it is not cheap, more for information..

Tops have extended their range of imported European meats.
Baloney, you say??
No I am telling the truth... :D
In with these new products are 3 varieties of tinned Pate - Pork, Calf & Fish. I am a bit of a Pate fan & not much about in Udon so I bought some of the Pork.
Not cheap at 195 baht for 80 gram.
Made by Jensen's who are not a firm I am familiar with but they do seem to do a Goose Pate, sadly not at Tops yet..

http://www.redlefsen.de/home/produkte/jensens.html

As Chern Chim were showcasing German bread I nipped around there & bought a loaf of wholemeal to create some toast from. Pate is smooth & I must admit that given a free choice I like something a bit coarser.
Taste was good though & it certainly cured the mid-morning hunger pangs..
Bread excellent!!

At Top's market today; Pepperidge Farm cookies ฿30 off = ฿95 per package for about half a dozen varieties. My wife loves the big dark red fresh cherries (Bing cherries). Not a real bargain at ฿199 for 450 grams but the same boxes of cherries were more than ฿350 last week. A special treat for the wife today.

Mrs. Shadow is on her third box now. The cherries have been excellent to date. We visited the States a couple of years ago during fresh cherry season. She couldn't get enough. So, even though they are expensive here she can satisfy her craving now and again with fruit that closely approximates what she ate in Missouri. A small luxury two or three times a year.

Yes, saw the avocados at the Royal Project shop. Peterson variety. They looked quite good and the price isn't too bad considering that avocados have always been quite expensive in Udon.

On the ring road on the left going from the Sakhon Nakhon intersection beside Big C towards the Khon Khaen intersection can't really miss it ozzydom but if you go past the Chevrolet showroom you've gone a little too far.

When you are in the car park the supermarket area is to the extreme right.

This weeks shopping deal is in Central Plaza and involves clothes for men, ladies or even chaps who like to wear womens clothes,I spose ! [-X
Several stores and many stalls have discounts between 50%-80%,including Jaspal 70% and X-act 70% off.
X-act have some decent pairs of shorts with 70% off.I got a nice pair for 360 baht reduced from about 1200 baht.
Just outside Jaspal there are stalls with 50% up off brand names like Benetton 60% and Nautica 50%.

Also round the corner, heading towards Robinsons, there are more stalls with 50% off, including the Manchester United shop......however its last seasons kit with the Aon logo on it :( ......whose gonna spend around 1400 baht for an outdated kit ?
Unless,of course, they are marketing it as a "Manchester United David Moyes Disaster Season" Limited Edition ! 8)
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

These sort of sales are banned in Oz, unless you can show where the product has been advertised at the original price for something like 3 months prior to the sale ( I stand corrected also, as each State has different consumer laws applying to this )

Most brand name shops, in Central have 12 monthly sales, based on a min of 40% off. Even the bar code tickets on some have both prices on them already printed, so how can it be a sale then ??
