Today's breaking news story out of Udon Province
A reporter was alerted to the discovery of a potential serpent hole in Amphur Chaiwan, Udon Province (SE of Nonghan) that had villagers from all directions flocking to see it.
Nearly 100 villagers brought flowers to worship at the mouth of the hole, about 15cm wide. The 44 year old owner of the land claimed he purchased the 4 rai 2 years ago from relatives. Last month, he had a dream about a serpent that raised its head up as high as a coconut tree. When the serpent returned to the hole, it changed into 2 men wearing white blankets.
After the owner awoke from his dream (op note......drunken stupor), he went out to his land, found two holes, and notified the villagers. Who, of course, flocked to the hole in search of lucky lottery numbers.
Personal note: I'll guess that the lady standing with the Gucci-kind of purse bet her wad on a lucky number. With any luck, none of the viewers of this forum are waiting for June 16 (lottery day) to see if she strikes it rich.
A western person wakes up from a dream about a serpent and says, "man, what a nightmare." A Thai wakes up from a dream about a serpent, and says, "Oh, today's my lucky day!"
