Interesting Quality Websites

Postby lee » March 23, 2006, 7:06 pm

I thought I'd start a thread for interesting quality websites.

I will start off with this website;

http://underground-history.co.uk/front.php

It's a fascinating look into the ever changing history of London's underground system.

Please feel free to post links to your favourite quality websites here, no commercial sites however please.

Thanks.

Lee a fantastic link, thanks very much. As one of the millions of Londoners thast used to take shelter from the V1&V2s in the tube, as we called it ,it brought back memories of the nightly struggle to find enough space to sleep on the tracks as soon as the last train of the day had departed and the scramble to wake up before the first of the next day came thundering in. Also the Kingsway tram tunnel which as a youngster I reguarly took my girl friends for a ride on to go down to the beach under Tower Bridge where we rented deckchairs and pretended we were at the seaside. As a matter of interest the fare from my home in Farringdon Road to the Tower was 2 pence each. One thing not mentioned was the trams couldn't turn round so the driver had controls at each end of the tram, and simply walked to the other end to go back home again, and drove from there.Oh nostalgia

Hi, I could use advice about trying to build quality site!

Postby praew » April 2, 2006, 11:52 pm

Hello everyone!

After two months of hard work, my dating site is finally up and running. I have tried to create a site that is easy to navigate and does not require you to waste your time. Having read this group for quite a while, it looks like there are a lot of knowledgeable people here, so I'd love to get some feedback about my site if anyone can spare the time. The site is located at <link removed> and called "Praew's .com".

Most of the profiles right now are of Thai women and western men, you can browse all the profiles and add your own if you want. The site is free and is beginning to get a bit of traffic. I think the site is OK right now, but there is lots to do. I need some community type stuff like newsgroups and chat but I dont have the profiles yet to warrant these options even though I have already installed them, so I'd be grateful if you could tell me if you like the site and where its weaknesses are.

Thanks in advance,
Praew

Find that perfect person for you now:

This looks to me like a commercial site. Please can you move it to the members only classified section, thanks.

Your post will be edited shortly, thanks.

Couldn't resist looking at 'Jill in Bangkoks' profile LOL
She listed her hobby as "shaping balls"

Other than that - don't waste your time - its an almost empty site.
