I would vote for Lou Dobbs, but as a Canadian, my vote would be of no consequence. Furthermore, I think he has to be nominated by one of the two parties in the Great Democracy to the South.

Nuff said.

Another closed-minded know-it-all on UM who sees the world exclusively in black and white. Literally. I never voted for George W. Bush. But I did vote for Bill Clinton once. And for McCain. Palin is a dipsh!t -- a very poor choice and a contributing factor why McCain lost.

Be honest KHONDAHM, I offended you when I said Obama was a loser. Right? :D It appears I'm being proven correct nearly every day.

As very few of us will be voting in any Thai elections, we have no impact. The sooner Thais are allowed to vote for their leaders, the better.

"When I first came here to live (in early 2007)..." wow, a fully-fledged expert in such a short time. Amazing.

Hmmmm. I wonder what the moderators will do about your post...

On the contrary, I am embarrassed for you. Really, I am. You do not even understand how you come across to other readers. Not only for your posts on this thread, but for pretty much all your posts on every thread. They speak unflattering volumes about your intellect and personality. Every post is a new embarrassment. And the fact that you claim to be American is even more embarrassing.

I am truly, truly embarrassed for you.

Just my song-baht.

Cheers!

Hi Khondahm
I must agree with you and I suspect many others feel the same. Unfortunately some people can never change their habits.I doubt if he feels embarrassed, so without sounding condescending, try and ignore his posts with the contempt they deserve, if he knows they ' wind you up' he'll only continue
best wishes

Actually I thought KD was being a bit tough on Tex.

In all of his posts to date, I haven't seen Tex claim that he has either an intellect, or a personality.

Still haven't answered my question. What's objectionable in my post that the moderators might "do something about"?

I can't tell you how deeply hurt I am to learn of your profound embarrassment. As you know, my entire reason for existence is centered around gaining your acceptance. I endeavor to gain your trust and respect by changing my tone -- beginning today. 8-[

The post coup election was held in December 2007, with, as you say, PPP wining close to a majority of seats. But as in any democracy, close ain't good enough, so they needed other party(ies) to form a coalition government. This was duly done, with Samak as PM.

12 months after the election, and with 2 intervening PPP administrations, for whatever reasons (both good and bad), MPs from some of those coalition parties decided to jump ship.

Just as PPP previously had the numbers, the Democrats now did. Accordingly, they now have the majority in Parliament, and are the government.
