well the best team on the night Did'nt win. i thought France played better, and what about Zidane did he lose his marbles? what a thing to do.

It is indeed really sad that he finished his career this way. Even the best players can lose their temper and act stupidly sometimes, but it was not the day to do so. A thousand thanks is not enough for what he had done prior to that anyway.

It did appear to this casual observer that France was the more aggressive team on the attack in the second half but Italy's defense held them off. Definitely enjoyed watching the games and even seemed that most of the flops and dives were being ignored by the officials in the final which, to me, was a positive.

They say that more than a billion people around the world watched this game? Amazing. I admit that I'm a sports junkie (but not a gambler) and have been wondering how I will survive without my steady fix of American football, baseball, basketball and hockey when we retire in Thailand. I can see an alternative with so many football/soccer games available on satellite TV nowadays. Same competitiveness, teamwork and skill needed in the other sports.

So i hear.... zidane lost it when the italian player involved said some disrespectful things regarding zidane's mother who is very ill at the moment, obviously he lost it and if that was the case who can blame him.He seems to have a history of head butting , maybe the italian lead him on to do it But i am sure he is still the Hero in France.

I am pretty sure that it (the insult) was a sort of "strategic trick" in the aim of making him lose his self-control and making him get a red card. But I am also convinced that despite the gravity of the insult, a world-class player such as him should not react this way and must keep quiet under any circumstance. In the worst case, he should have insulted the provocator in return, but nothing more. Better than that, he should have ignored the insult, and stay focused on the game.

Last but not least, it was not a very good attitude to show to the youngsters who idolise him all around the world.

Still a Hero, but his legend will be eternally tarnished by this really sad end.

As for the song, I know that it was made and uploaded on Internet only a few hours after the end of the game. Now, an important label in the french music industry has signed with the authors and is pretty sure that it will be a hit in the charts very soon.
