Satellite TV setup

Postby BKKSTAN » September 4, 2006, 12:43 pm

I have a friend that has just finished building his house in Nong Khai.He was wondering about getting a sat TV setup vs. UBC for watching American sports.

In the past,I have heard of a guy(John?) in Pom Phosi that sold them and did business with integrity, versus the local NK gent that has the opposite ''jacket''!

The problem is that I can't remember ,who told me about him.So why I'm continuing to think about it,I thought somebody on the forum might know about him or know about alternative sources.Maybe even know about the setup and if it is worth doing or not!

 He has built himself a pretty fancy house,5+ Mil baht, and 2+mil to furnish. So I have an ulterior motive  To watch American sports in comfort at his house  Of course,I will bring the beer

John no longer does it. P.M. me and I can get someone for you. I have the system you are speaking about.

The only thing I would say is make sure your friend gets a big enough dish. If he wants to go down the non-UBC route, and doesn't wish to take the gamble of 'card sharing' (as offered now by several Thai dealers), he will probably need to get a certain KU band package from the Philippines. I have a system in central Isan rather than NK, and am not sure of the size requirements there, but they won't be too different. I bought a 7.5 foot move and now wish I'd got a 10 foot move. The price different isn't that huge.
