Gem, our little one goes there. 1st semester of 2nd grade. i'm satisfied with the school, which is relative to where we are, udorn, and the cost. kindergarten 1-2-3, then 1st thru 12th grade. k1 and k2 she bypassed, k-3 was a bit more expensive than 1st grade, not sure why, 1st semester of 2nd is less than 7000 baht x 2 = 14000 baht a year. the english program sucks. and 1000 of that semester fee is for piano, which i will attempt to drop next semester, a waste.

another school is don bosco, which gets mixed reviews, but has ac, lol. my understanding with them is, they were very good, but now have a waiting list, so if student falls behind, no problem, next. this is 2nd hand info.

Gem is good with math, and can read anything thai, phonetically, vocabulary is expanding. her english is better than teachers. this is a lazy student with just a bit of input from me for math and english.

you should welcome the all girl thing, as Gem has asked me what sperm is, all of 7 yrs old, so better to keep them away from the boys till 25 or 30 yrs old, unless they can afford my asking sin sot of 10 million baht, plus inflation next 18 yrs, that's, oh sh*t, i can retire again i big style.

thanks for that info...i was thinking of sending my son to Don Basco..is it all boys? or mixed...he is only 1.5yrs so its a while off yet...should i put his name down now?...can you do that?

as for my daughter, some times the all-girl thing can have negative and opposite effect i think (in a european enviroment), but maybe not in thailand..

she is to go for a test in feb next year and will hopefully start year 1 next may...we had a look around the other day...seemed like a nice modern(ish) enviroment and 14000 seems quite reasonable, but i suppose at the end of the day, u get what u pay 4

kris, I too have a step daughter that goes to St Mary's. Though LA has a lot more experience of the school than I.

It seems a popular school and I like what I see. My impressions are that they seem well organised, everything clean and tidy. Lessons well focussed etc.

There was no waiting list when we started daughter there earlier this year.

As LA says the English programme seems a bit of a token gesture, daughter brings home some weird English pronounciations! :D

Don Bosco is mixed. Can be quite expensive. Good English curriculum. One of my son is a Don Bosco'er. He knows what a preposition is and what dangling participles do.

I don't
