The story line is quite good. It is part auto-biographical and part fantasy. Despite the title of the book - it is not one of those typical bar girl type books. Actually, the primary character in the book turns out to be quite a moralistic bastard. He shows Thailand and falangs in a whole different light which is positive for both Thais and falangs. (He actually also makes the British seem a bit human in the process as well.
The book can keep your attention and it is easy to read in one sitting. This is his first attempt at writing a book - and it turned out to be quite good. Well worth the read.
If you want something a bit different to do some day or evening, it can be picked up at the book store outside of Tops in the Complex and the Irish Clock has some copies as well.
