is there an "excess" an amount of money you have to pay in the event of a claim ?

ie: you have to pay the first 2500 baht(or what ever) of any claim.
Can You Dig It Dug.?

not in my experiance, but i would imagine that depends on the company that you employ.

on the 3 claims i have had there was no excess to pay first.

No excess and the next year the premium goes down rather than up.

 I had one minor claim where the other individual had insurance and accepted fault. There was no charges and my rate did not go up!The other two, there was no insurance by the other party and though I was not in the wrong,my insurance paid for all except the 2000 baht fee!And my rate went up!The bottomline is that insurance is relatively cheap here! :)

Has anyone tried to take their NCD from their home country and received a discount when taking out insurance in Thailand?

I have maximum NCD in the UK, was just wondering if I provided proof of this, would it be taken into account.

Knowing Thailand, the answers no, but thought I'd ask all the same.
