Udon to BKK US Embassy [Which Airport?]

Post by chewbacca » November 5, 2013, 8:52 am

Waht's the best line from here to BKK & back.

I have an appointment in BKK at 1PM and want to leave here around 8AM, be on time for the appointment, and be back here by nightfall.

Which airport in BKK has the best to & from route, e.g. least time / hassle?

Thai Air (Smile) to Suvarnabhumi (08.45 from Udon - back 1420 or 1810), and then Airport Link to Phaya Thai station, and then BTS to Chitlom station (or is it Ploenchit that`s closest to the US Embassy?).

You have a number of choices around that time.Distance wise there is not much in it between Dom Mueang or Suvarnabhumi to the centre of Bangkok, although Suvarnabhumi has the BTS route, mentioned in the post above.
Nok Air 7.35am to Dom Mueang
Thai Smile 8.45am to Suvarnabhumi
Air Asia 8.55am to Dom Mueang
Bangkok Airways 9.15am to Suvarnabhumi.........service starting on 29th November.

However you will find a difference in price.....
Thai Smile 4500 baht return
Bangkok Airways 3730 baht return
Air Asia....approx 2636 baht without baggade add on.....3300 baht with baggage add on
Nok Air 2200 baht return

Nok Air currently have a promotion on till 6th November,I think,ON THE INTERNET ONLY !! You will pay between 2800-3000 baht if you use an agent or go to the airport to book.
I booked on the internet last weekend for my wife to go and see her friend in Bangkok in a few weeks time paying 2197 baht with Nok Air return.
You might be lucky....good luck !

PS Taxi from Dom Mueang to the US Embassy should be around 400 baht.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

That`s 800 baht with the return.
Airport Link is 150 baht return on Express Line and 90 (or less?) on the City Line. BTS is around 60-70 baht with return. No taxi needed.
Express Line leaves the airport every hour, the City Line every 15 minutes or so. BTS every 3-5 minutes.
