Washing machine repair shop?

Post by mortiboy » December 6, 2013, 5:53 pm

Any one know washing machine repair shop?
After replacing the motor,I also bought a capacitor.
Without a helpful twirl of the agitator it wont revolve.
Meaning the capacitor frucked .
But Unfortunately, The wire colours are not same as old one. (4 terminals)
After swapping leads around , this way and that .... nothing.
I am peed off! I give up!

When leaving the Airport turn right as if you are heading into town. Shortly after the road makes that 90 degree turn to the left there is one on your left hand side. Can't miss it plenty of used washing machines and fridges out front.
No man has a good enough memory to be a succesful liar.

Connections for the average cap start motor...might help you out if you have access to a mulitmeter.

There is one which I have used before for other electrical appliances , it is on the LHS going into town from Big 'C ', just before the traffic lights just past AEK Udon and before the now Mazda garage just before ' Boss studio ', they have been there for over 10 years and there have a large customer base.
Everytime i use them i ask them to phone me with an estimate before work as otherwise costs could spiral.

My gf's brother repairs machines from home. Located on the road to Chiang yuen a few km from the ring road (NW). Has a sign out the front (in Thai). Does a good job by all accounts.

We have a few coin op washing machines that we have in front of our mini mart, serviced by Amorn on the ground floor of the Big C building. The guys there tell us Samsung are the best of the bunch, that is the brand that we use.

There are four leads. Blue, brown, and two yellow.
I have connected the blue and brown as shown in diagram. But The capacitor does not kick in!
Tried different combinations.... same result.
By connecting a multimeter across leads, Should get a reading and needle go back to zero. but all leads dead.
Surely The new capacitor is not U/S ? At 400 baht not cheap!

Not clear just what you are connecting to what but I doubt your multimeter will have enough drive to charge the cap for any test.
Also from the pic it is not clear what is on the label of the cap. It may well be a dual cap.(2 in one) then it becomes cap start, cap run which connection is a little different. (and too many combinations for you to stumble on the right one)
My reference to a multimeter was to check which motor winding was which, and go from there.
I'm assuming cap is new so doubtful it would be faulty.

Thanks for advice BJ.I did actually "Stumble" on the right combination!
You were right. The multimeter reading did not show.As you say, appears not enough drive?
Through me off.Had it been 2 leads would have been easy.
Udon map to the rescue again
Now Have a happy machine!

Amorn in Big C carries loads of replacement parts and components for many things. There are 2 aisles with stuff on display, if they don't have may be they can order.

A few years ago we had our dryer repaired at Amorn, they also replaced a cracked jerk and a fried switch. They have to be getting the parts from some where.

My general experiences with staff and repairs in Amorn have been well below par even with my translator being present. You will find several 'jerk' in the place loitering doing Lauren Bacall other than 'playing' on their mobile phone's.

The repair shop is useless Seems they have no idea. Takes forever to fix, and then still not right!
The staff Know less than we do.
But some handy stuff there. They have a policy, if goods you buy dont work.... No refund .
Attitude,..... Tough chit!
