I didn't understand these things for the longest time. These Instagram-processed images have the fine points of the subject's features "wiped clean", and they pretty hideous to me. But after some discussions with women who have done this, I have come to see that its not a matter of looking pretty (certainly can't be!) but more a matter of being in fashion.

on the asian dating forums gals like to use those 'big eyes types photos' to scam guys for some cash .
not sure what camera lens they use to get that big eyes effect .
but they tend to fall into a clones photo with big eyes and pointy chin type effect
