4G in Udon?
I've read reports of small areas in Bangkok with 4G........but in the past few days while out and about in town, my cell phone has been showing 4G on the screen as well. Access speeds do seem to be better than normal....but I'm usually reading a few pages of NYT or an email or two while the wife is buying a dead chicken or two at Ban Hui market. Anyone else notice anything different in speeds lately.....AIS?

What phone do you have, that is 4G capable?

Samsung Galaxy S2 (quadcore).....complements of a loving daughter who upgraded to the S5.
Problem is, I wouldn't be willing to bet much on whether the '4G' is the real McCoy or just something to make people think it's the real McCoy.

If it is an S2, it would be appear to be dual core, and no 4G:

The S3 is quad core, but no 4G:

The S4 onwards seems to fit the bill for both specs:

It's a Galaxy Note, model sgh-t889. Specs show it's quad-core and 4G.....our daughter said she was using it on 4G networks in Texas. But just because the local AIS towers are displaying 4G on phones doesn't (in my books) mean they're putting out real 4G capable signals.
That all said, there is a marked difference between my Samsung Duos (dual-core 3G) and the Note. That silly little inch or so in size makes it soooo much easier to use. The screen seems so much more responsive to finger commands. Better camera.....and a screen that makes reading NYT length articles easy on the eyes. It's not an iPad, but then it doesn't weigh as much as an iPad. Would I pay the Baht for such a monster? No.....but when our daughter offered it to us....freshly refurbished by the factory.......I wasn't about to say 'no'.
