if your going to be leaving a motor scooter UNstarted for a good few months is it
best to disconect the battery or just leave it as is ? BTW its a PCX so there is no
kick start for when you do need to restart it .

siphon out all your gas, start the bike until it burns off all the gas
disconnect the negative terminal of the battery

If you live near the "family" no worries ..... they will reconnect the battery before they use it :-"

I leave my scooters with the tanks completly full of benzine, if I was to leave them with gasahol you can mix an additive with the fuel to equalize it, the best is to plug your battery into a trickle charger, shove a rag or steel wool in your exhaust to prevent rodents nesting in there.

I am in the process of resurrecting a big bike that has been "stored for about 2 years.
The fuel and cooling system are the biggest problems! the petrol tank has rusted (I drained it) and what little fuel was left in has crystallized, gasohol is horrible stuff, as stated I would fill the tank and put plenty of stabilizer/additive in.
I would put fresh coolant in as well, (PCX are water cooled - yes?)
Again as previously stated disconnect battery and put on trickle charge if you have one.
Best to put on center stand as well and adjust so neither Tyre is on the ground.
Also if possible try and store where not too humid.

I drain the tank because I dont want to depend on the float pin in the carb to NOT fill the crank case & exhaust pipe with gas
center stand with both wheels off the ground too

The tanks will always rust out if left empty, most bikes now are fuel injected.

A few years back I left the bike in a shed for 9 months. The mice had a great party with the electric cables. Now I take it in the house, disconnect the battery but leave any petrol (91) in the tank. The battery runs flat after a few months though!
We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now

Many bikes these days use a vacuum line to control fuel flow out of the tank.
i.e. engine off, vacuum control at the tap, off, fuel off.
