UT Police Superintendant Transferred

Post by fdimike » March 25, 2015, 5:31 pm

According to the Thai TV cable news and the BP. Our illustrious do nothing police chief has been transferred to the police operations center along with another high ranking individual. I'm sure they'll be sorely missed.

In any civilised society he would be suspended pending the investigation and not just a sideways move during it. Senior officers here found guilty of various crimes/offences/misdemeanours never seem to get the sack, (loss of pension?) usually just a transfer. No deterrent whatsoever.
Here's tae us, wha's like us, damn few, and they're a' deid. Mair's the pity!

It is very difficult, legally, to sack senior Government employees, I am led believe.

The basic pay, even for senior positions, is not especially large but significant lump payments have often had to exchange hands in order to obtain that position.
It only takes a little basic maths to see that the monthly salary is probably NOT the deciding factor in the exchange.

To be moved to an inactive post, therefore, is a slow death financially as any opportunity to increase the monthly salary is then denied..

According to what I understand they learn to shuffle papers from one stack to another before lunch. After lunch they reverse the process. It sure does sound like a slow death to me. [-X \:D/

I wish the Land Office Director went with him, so us expats in Udon Province can apply for a usufruct.

Thai law allows these, but he is using his discretion to reject all applications.

They can't fire them because they know where the bodies are buried.

Afraid so...hahaha! It must be full at the office of Inactive Post.

I can only dream that the RTP would effectively apply suspension with all pay and privileges nullified and voided during investigation, immediate termination of service upon proven involvement in a crime, and subsequently to be charged with due process of the law.

I was informed that the 'uniform chap' arrested, totally absolved his seniors of any knowledge or involvements.

What...no finger pointing?! Well, at least in my books....that's a first.
