Post by nmcd1649 » April 23, 2015, 2:58 pm

I hold a 5 year Thai driving licence issued in Udon. I'm going on a short term work project in Russia and the company require me to have an International Driving Permit. Can I get this IDP in Udon..?? if so any advice on where to apply and what documentation requirements I need would be appreciated...

You don't need IDL, I have worked in Russia on several occasions and used my Thai license, you need it translated and copied with company stamp on photo copy for when the police stop you and they will many times.

The bottom line to this, it is effectively an endorsement of your existing licence in the country that has issued your IDP.

All's fine till you have an incident and local authorities then ask for you IDP perhaps ???

But Officer my company secretary and recruiting agency said I didn't need one - SLAM LOL
