I like to go swim in the mornings.
The two good swimmingpools before are Ban Chiang and Napalai hotel.
But in the raining season very green water and I don't like it.
Maybe there are forum members who know good places for swimming in the morning.

Try the Siam Grand hotel on the Ring road just past the flyover at Big C heading toward the Khon Kean road.
It is advertised on Udon Map on the right hand side of the home page.
Have some friends who use the swimming pool there & say it is good.
I think it is 60 baht for non residents.

Its 50 baht. Salt Water. Another is the Hotel near water dept. its 100 baht. Also there is a lap pool just pass the light at Chris's Place at the School, don't know price and think I was told only open to public after 5PM

In town:
Centara Hotel. Rooftop pool. Pay to use the gym, and which includes use of pool. Costly, but slightly cheaper if you become a term member.
Charoen Hotel. I think they still allow non-residents, but no idea of cost.
Erwins Resort. ditto.
Off ring road.
Roy Suk ditto.
Thomas Resort ditto.
Sittharon Housing Estate. Pleasant set up, incorporating changing rooms, showers & coffee shop, serving snacks.
Out of town.
Changthai Resort. About 8kms out of town in quiet country area. Pool environment very pleasant and pool very well maintained. Food not cheap but good. Great place for a day out, or even overnight stay (bt.900 or thereabout, I think ).
Park & Pool. Nongkhai. Situated immediately opposite the railway station and BEHIND, (not to be confused with), the Nongkhai Resort. Very comfortable rooms (Bt.900) or Bungalow (Bt.1200/1400) including satisfactory buffet breakfast (Thai/European). Garden surrounds and excellent pool, with child section. Another great place for short stay.

İf you like to swim laps then I think the pool at Siam Grand is probably the best in Udon. As a previous post has mentioned its opposite Big C on the ring road. You would have the pool to yourself if you are a morning swimmer.
cost is 60 bht for an adult and 50 bht for a child.

Ooops! I forgot to mention my own long term favourite, which is BB Resort, off the ring road and virtually adjoins Englishman's Retreat,(which also has a 'gym/pool' rate for non residents). BB, which has full sized pool, is normally deserted mornings. In fact, in the decade or so I have used it, (usually between 1000hrs-1500hrs),very seldom have there been present, more than 3/4 other users.

little swimming resort hwy 22 towards nong han on the left was impressed with pool,slides for kids and food.
