Nice but a little expensive for me, I like to travel boldly, it,s the adventure that makes a good holiday, I pay a girl B100 a day plus lunch dinner, knows udon well, doesn't drive, but I do all the driving riding, helps with the translations when buying the materials to build trailer, and in the near future a home

Them caves is called the Erawan caves Zac, and I can assure you the roads are great and the scenery along the way is beautiful. In the carpark at the bottom of the caves are a couple of open air resteraunts that sell good cheap Tucker. Take a camera and if you make it to the top [over 600 steps as I remember] the photo ops are brilliant. Have a good day out

I would recommend taking Fon as your guide.

Her English is pretty good and she is fun to have around. She also knows the area very well.

Yup bring water and a towel for the sweat. Not kidding but if you sweat a lot like I do you might bring a change of shirt too. I looked like I just got dragged out of the river when I got to the top. Also part of the caves are dark so maybe you should bring a flashlight. I have a little multi-function Swiss army type rip off pen-knife, pliers, screwdriver and mini-flashlight that cost about 100 Baht. It has come in really handy at times. :D

As for the Erewan Caves.

Could someone tell me - roughly which direction they are in from Udon town centre. Also, how far are they from Udon town centre.

many thanks

Past Tesco's, past the airport turn-off keep going through nong bua lampoo on the 210 and you will see them/it from the road in the distance to your right. under 1 hour .
plus a climb/sprint up the steps to the top .
