Tisco Bank

Postby Naam Jai » January 9, 2008, 8:10 am

Since August 2006 I have received 29055.99bht interest from Tisco Bank ,tax free, for my instant access Savings account with an ATM card, that does not charge for use, in any bank. Mostly the balance has been under 1 million bht, but as I am here on a retirement visa and fancy free still, I must keep 800,000 bht in the bank, when I renew my visa. ( I know the other options too). I use the account for day to day expenses. They credit interest every 6 months so its compounded. It was 3% now 2% interest but I have now accepted an instant access account paying 2.125% for deposits over 1 mill.bht. Tax free. There are higher rates for fixed interest accounts. Best seems to be 3% (15% tax) so 2.55% fixed for 8 months on balance over 1 million.
Tisco Bank is on the left and on the way out of town to Tesco. On Udon Dutsadi Road, ? K2 an the map. Parking is easy and queueing unlikely.

They have been OK for me for what they do.

Help yourself ( as Tom Jones Said)

Couple of issues with them, that i have found, as i use them to finance my new car ( why use ur own money when they offer 3% ) i still get 12-15% offshore net.

1 u cant use international bank transfers directly to your bank account with them.

2 their ATMs wont accept overseas credit cards
