Looking for a modest city centre house/apartment to rent

Postby arjay » January 9, 2008, 11:34 pm

I'm looking for a modest/small house, or an apartment, or a share of a town or shop house, to rent, in or close to Udon city centre, to use as a base for frequent/extended visits to Udon. It would need to be within reasonable walking distance of main facilities, as I would not have transport, other than perhaps a motorbike. It should ideally be part (or fully) furnished and have a reasonable western style kitchen.

I would possibly consider anything similar in either Nong Khai or Loie town centres.

I would be quite happy to pre-pay 6 months rent at a time if the package was right.

Please PM me if you know of anything suitable. :D

Arjay, have you considered some of the Guest houses who offer special long stay rates, no kitchen of course but at least a maid cleans for you every day ??

Arjay
You don't say if you want furnished, part furnished or unfurnished.Next month is a way off as these places get snapped up.

North west ish of centre.

I know of a newish 2 bed bungalow in Hansa Gardens of the Ku Chap road 5 kms from town at 5000pcm.

There is a regular songthaew passes on the main road. I think 8bht into town.

I know of a condo with A/C at 290bht per night. Seems OK Restaurant run by a Frenchie. Thats off Phosri Road about 100metres songthaew/ city bus on Phosri.

Might be worth waiting until you come and getting some wheels. An international driving licence from the AA or RAC with your British licence would be OK.

Contact me nearer the time.

Naam Jai, I did say I was looking for furnished or part furnished:
It should ideally be part (or fully) furnished and have a reasonable western style kitchen.

I will be leaving my wheels in Phuket, that's partly why I want somewhere within walking distance of city centre shops nightlife etc.
It would need to be within reasonable walking distance of main facilities, as I would not have transport, other than perhaps a motorbike.

I spotted the Kut Chap place and the one behind Harry's bar, but they would be too far out. I really want to be in the central area.

Thanks. I will post again when my next visit is imminent, which is likel to be next month.

From what I have read, the AEK hospital apartments sounds like good value. I will be adding this to my list of places I could be staying at.

I could not find if they have western type food, restaurant or a bar. Does anyone know of this please.

Thankyou.
