This Gent picked a bad one

Long distance relationships, mixed relationships etc...

Postby tingtongfalang » March 16, 2008, 12:21 am

Well, she didn't take anything from him that he didn't give her. She didn't lie to him, she said she didn't want a relationship. But what the hell, he was paying. Bar girls will be bar girls. Whores will be whores. What did he expect? I've known a couple in my day too. Who hasn't? But now he's plastered her name and pics all over the internet! We'll probably be reading about another farang killed soon when her friends and family see it.

These bar girls aren't the brightest of people, yet they run rings around the likes of this Muppet time after time.

It's unfortunate that he has decided to to tar all Isaan people with the same brush - IMHO, another facet of an immature character. What a Nugget.

Hi Jack, how are you?

You can assume that I've just tarred all bar girls with the same brush! I'm sure not all of them are dim but they might not possess the worldly experience that some Farangs do.

The author said: 'I must point out to people that any thai born in Isan or Esan chances are 99.999% they goh hok kee gong. In other words 99.999% from Isan or Esan are liars, cheaters and thieves. You cannot trust any of them' (source: http://www.phenchaloemphol.com/).

What other assumptions can you make from what I've said? Well, in my limited experience, I've met some people from Isaan and Udon who might be Goh Hok and rip you off, but not everyone has exhibited those traits. Some are actually quite decent.

Aside from that, I don't think you can make any further assumptions, unless I'm being dim. Maybe you could enlighten me?

One last thing, posters on this Forum would not be living in the Udon area if what this chap said was true (forgive me for stating the obvious). To state 99.999% illustrates his ranting anger and immaturity to a situation where he should have been aware of the risks before committing himself.

I'm sure you'd agree that risk assessment is a good life skill to possess; especially in the Far East. ;)

Sawadee khup westerby. I am as happy as a pig in nooah!

I am still trying to interpret your post - perhaps I should sleep on it.

In the meantime, there is no doubt that risk assessment, based on observation and research, is an absolutely vital life skill in these parts. :D

Indeed, along with caution, foresight, contingency planning and damage limitation planning! :D :D

I don't see that making sweeping generalisations or assumptions is ever appropriate, or indeed correct. There are always exceptions. :D

Good to see you're fighting fit, Jack.

All I'm saying is that we see this time and again: bar girls from the countryside manipulating (forgive the pun) Farangs and liberating them of their hard earned cash. Nothing new here, plenty of people have been around this buoy before.

But some Farangs need to look at the situation and ask themselves: 'does this lady want my babies or does she want me to build a house for her Mummy (or does she want both)?'

I believe that a few Farangs are not emotionally intelligent enough to deal with these situations and are shocked when they are scammed because they never wanted to approach this possibility in the first place. Indeed, I think that some of us end up in Thailand looking for wives because we can't form relationships with women back home.

I'll step off my soapbox now. Get your Zeds in, Jack, doubtless I'll hear from you tomorrow.

I nearly joined "the other 1000s".

But spent a couple of grands (Bhats) on private investigation.
And, boy, the results were unbelievable!
'twas the best money I have ever spent!!
