UBC - TRUE VISIONS. What a bloody disgrace.

Just opened this months magazine and not a sniff about the Olympics. 6 sports channels and nothing.

If they are that tight arsed I'm sure the Synchronised Swimming won't cost much!

Don't know about UBC-True, I canceled my subscription a few months ago... for similar reasons. Just hope the Home Channel has some of the Olympics on it. Would love to see something other than Middle East or S. African soccer or cricket.

Home Cable has been showing some events of the Olympics, but on the Chinese channel.

On top of the Olympics not on T Visions, tha bloody magazine had the Community Shield shown pre show, 9.00PM kick off and post show. Was it televised...........was it shite..... Had to listen to it on UK internet radio

Me thinks it's time to rethink my TV programming supplier so, given we don't get Home cable out here in the sticks anyone have any good advise where to go?

I just want to ad the USA is number one in sports and TV programs of all types and yet we have very little to view if any maybe it time for cable & satellite companies start offering good selection of programs for us to view Lady Boy minstrel shows just doesn't cut it for most viewers.

I also canceled my UBC. This month. It has been going steadily downhill this past year.

Still have UBC. May not be the best but has more varity in sports. English football and now with the NFL season about to start don't remember getting NFL on home cable. Also like can get some of the sports and movies in either Thai or English. Keeps my sons and their friends from going out to watch in the night market or some seedy place. As for me I'll keep UBC.

Merchant Seaman, I agree, if one is a big sports fan, UBC is the only game in town.
However, I am not that big a sports fan, can take it or leave it. If I really want to watch a particular event, I can go to one of my sports fan friends' homes and watch it there. :D

I originally got UBC because of Movies, Documentaries, and T.V. Series. All of which I think the selection has gone steadily downhill on UBC. Also, what I mean when I say 'gone steadily downhill', is constant repeating of the same movie or program, over and over again. And not just during the same month, UBC rebroadcasts programs and movies that were being shown years ago. For me, that is unacceptable for 1568 baht per month. I had the "Gold Package", I'd say that is worth no more than 700 baht per month.

Also UBC broadcasts a watered down version of the premium channels.

I feel the same way!I feel stuck with an overrated UBC because of my sports preferences.I have a British friend that has different sports preferences and he gets by with Home cable in Nong Khai for 2000 a year.He has some complaints about them switching satelites and programs in the middle of a broadcast, but somehow is able to call them and get switched back!Anyway,he is happy with his savings versus UBC.They don't have American sports and many of the broadcast are with Thai announcers ,which turns me off,so I cuss UBC and pay my 52 baht a day for it

I'm also a huge sports fan so will probably keep UBC when we move to the boonies soon. Dissatisfied with the movies and documentaries that they keep repeating but, for me, live coverage of the World Series and NFL games makes it worthwhile. Another huge bonus is their coverage of premier boxing bouts from the US and Europe. Watched a terrific fight a few weeks ago between Cotto and Margarito on Channel 67. While it is possible to watch some of these events on the computer nowadays, you need a good adsl quality internet connection and not sure if I can get that with Ipstar out in the suburbs.
