I think that new lady supervisor sitting the opposite end to Mr Happy has made a big difference. She's always in the office working. The previous bloke a little guy, very rarely came downstairs from his office and left everything to Mr Happy to sort out.Even Mr H asked "Sabai de mai ?" last time I went . I was so shocked I didn't answer, fortunately the wife did.

Well you can do so again now Roy if the need arises. :D :D
As I said, a complete change of attitude.
Ah, thank you TB. Yes she was there & countersigned all the paperwork. It was not obvious (from their titles, which all seem identical) who would have been in charge to me...

The previous little guy must be no more,a quite tall lady with glasses came into the office when I was last there and the rest of them including the next in charge who I believe is the lady on the far left, all stopped and acknowledged her.
Anyway if anyone still has a heart attack when Mr Happy calls you up,best get there say 8.30/8.45am as he always seems to start from 9am 8)

I think the lowest rank at immigration is a senior major or something like that. I think the cleaner is a lieutenant colonel or something. They love uniforms in Thailand. Even teachers and local government plebs have a uniform befitting of a general.

They have uniforms but most are of sergeant ranks and not commissioned officers. The person doing the final approval will be an officer rank.

Tourist visa extension was a snap.

Filled out TM7 in about 5 minutes tops. No waiting, but all officers busy with someone.

Had all copies of passport, photos, bank books, airline tickets and yellow book in tow (just in case). Within 5 minutes upon sitting, I was up. Had requested 15 days, but was granted 30. Didn't need copies of anything. They made the copies for me even though I had them ready. All I needed was to provide a pic and sign.

Done.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. No problems at all.
