There are no rounds scheduled at Victory Pk as that has proven to be poorly attended in the past. The four Sri Thani rounds are on a Tuesday which provides Sports day rates.
Scheduled are 2 Pairs rounds to provide variety and only 1 Stroke Round for obvious reasons.
By providing a once a month schedule this will at least cater for those newbies who want to get into the Golf in Udon. Although numbers have been good during the Christmas/New Year period we need to remember when during the year numbers have been poor.

Our 2014 Udon Golf Season is almost upon us and the following will apply to all our scheduled rounds.
Annual Membership. 300 baht for new members, 100 baht for existing.
This to be paid if possible a week pre the Round, if not on the day of the scheduled round.
Schedule to commence is subject to change throughout the Year subject to course conditions.
Tee off times will be from 8 15 am to 8 30. All players are expected to be in attendance by 8am to be part of the draw.
Handicaps. A maximum 28 handicap to apply.
If a new member does not have a verified handicap then 3 cards need to be presented from Society rounds or with the approval of the handicapper. If a new member presents 3 cards and if the score recorded handicap is rated above 28 then a 32 maximum is permitted for three months, or until the player records below 28. During this period a new member can’t be in the prize pool.
N/R CARD is accepted unless the score recorded is below the member’s handicap.
Adjustment of handicaps will be done following each round and forwarded by email to all members.
Preferred Lies are accepted in the fairway, the ball position must be marked before picking up the ball. Ball maybe cleaned and then placed no more than one score card length from the marker and no closer to the hole.
Plugged balls in the rough- subject to agreement from your marker you may get relief from a plugged ball in the rough, however unlike in the fairway you must drop the ball no nearer to the hole and no more than a score card away from the ball.
Putts- all balls must be putted out unless you have exceeded your scoring opportunity.
Stroke Index at Wing 23 -8th Hole is rated at #4 - 4th Hole rated at #6.
Etiquette- It is important that we learn and practice correct Golf etiquette at all times to avoid unnecessary upsets. ie standing behind someone who is putting or talking when someone is in the process of his stroke are big NO’s. Playing out of turn unless agreed and engaging in Slow Play will get a reaction to be avoided. Abuse of fellow players and or Caddies is not to be practiced. Not repairing divots and leaving bunkers un raked are regarded as being inconsiderate. These are a few areas that we all need to be reminded of occasionally.
Results will be posted on Udon Map Forum under Udon Golf after each completed round.

Ubolrat Friday Round 24 January 2014
Good roll up today of 13 players at Ubolrat this morning although the cold was less than welcoming to commence.
A couple of new players/guests on board plus the usual suspects teed off at 8 30 at the Dam which is probably regarded these days as our favourite course.
The cold eased off shortly after we all teed off and the weather after the freezing start was thankfully magnificent.
Unfortunately the overall scores did not reflect the quality of the course as we only had two players recording plus 30 point scores.
Winners; First 9 Chuck Mc Cormick 18 points, Second 9 John Cooke 19 points, Overall winner John Cooke with 35 points.
Closest to the Pin holes were both won by Ian Barrett, which contrasted with his surprising low overall points.

Great to have 15 turn up today for our weekly round at Ubolrat. Course in super condition, weather perfect, and with very few others on the course we had an easy 18 holes time wise.
It was especially pleasing to see the positive mood of the group, maybe it being Chinese New Year had something to do with that.

3rd Feb 2014 UDON THANI GOLF SOCIETY ROUND
13 members turned up today to play the opening round of the season at Wing 23 Golf Course.
Course was quite wet in places but overall for the price the course represents good value.
Winners.
John Mc Morris with a blistering 43 points won the day with a putting exhibition I have not seen from him for a long time.
Thong Pimblett with a great 41 points finished second with Tony Jones 35 points in third.
Terry Aston and Peter Bray won the two closest to the pin on the par 3 holes.

At the moment our Udon Golf Society has only scheduled one competition a month. However the core group play elsewhere as well during the week, generally at Sri Thani on Sports Days or at Ubolrat on a Friday.
So if you are looking for additional opportunities to play, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you, golf wise.
We are more than happy to direct any new players to the appropriate group they maybe best suited for.
There are many Groups in Udon, the Scandinavian farangs in particular have many active golfers who enjoy regular golf get together s.
Udon Golf Society since its beginning has had thousands of players commence their Golf in the Society. Then as a result of this involvement players meet others who they form friendships with.This can then develop into additional regular social golf with like minded new friends.
Our Udon Golf Society Web site has experienced difficulties recently but it is our goal to get it back and running sooner than later.

I played in a group of five (I know too many but nobody playing behind us) on the same day as the Udon Golf Society at Sri Thani on 05/02/2012. Playing in front of us were two Germans - I sincerely hope they are not members of the UGS as when we caught up with them on the second round at the Par three third, I have never in my life been confronted by such ignorant b******s on a Golf course. One very large and fat and the other tall and thin. Just mentioning it as if they are members you would do well to cast them off. Never had any problems with the society members.
