Udon slated for CAT 3G in December

I'm skeptical on any news dealing with 3G in Thailand.......but according to the article, Udon is slated for upgrade to CAT's 3g network in December this year.

That i nelive when i see........where i live in a village outside Nong Wai in Nong Wua soh amphur, we still not have a decent working GSM connection........stooneedge ore not!.........but things for shure get better now when the real IT infrastructure family going to lead this country.......i think its getting better soon! :pirate:

Well, FINALLY it appears that something is starting to move on the 3G front.

No real surprise that the initial thrust is very much Bangkok biased - less good news is that the complete CAT focus would appear to be Business rather than Private customers. Given that emphasis it is rather difficult to see how easy take up will be in Udon, even next year.

On a completely unrelated matter, but part of the same CAT story in The Nation I noticed this line...

The board also approved staff bonuses equivalent to 3.8-3.9 months of salaries as well as a Bt50,000 grant to each of 2,500 staff to repair their flood-hit homes.

Nice one to their staff on both accounts...
I did always love staff bonuses when I was working, far better than a pay rise as it was a large lump sum that you could do something major with. Nearly a third of your annual salary as a bonus is a real nice Christmas gift!!
