Postby Ing_udon » November 24, 2009, 11:01 am

Udon Thani, 21st November 2009

The police announced to the public that they caught and arrested a 32 year old man, accused of selling Yabaa. The police caught him at his own house with 150 tablets of Yabaa in his jeans pockets and 3 papers with lists of 35 customers.
Mr.Kongkiat confessed to the police. He said that he was a truck driver transporting products for Porn-Udom tranportation company. His route was Udon-Nakon Pratom. He said he never dealt in drugs initially. He was a customer buying Yabaa for himself, about 10-20 tablets each time. Then eventually he became a seller himself. He bought Yabaa from another dealer, about 200 tablets a time, and sold them for 300 baht per tablet. He also sold to his work coleages for 350-400 baht per tablet. They did not have to pay him right away, they could pay whenever they could. He has been selling drugs for 2 months and made very good money from it.

I maybe wrong here, society would probably string me up for spouting this. But if drug dealers didn't push their products plus stayed away from and refused to sell to youngsters, are they really the evil villains society would have us believe? I know the chances of finding a drug dealer with morals is pretty slim.

If drugs are not being pushed onto you, ie you really want to get high, you're gonna go looking for a source, if he hasn't got it you'll move onto the next, until you get a hit. You want something they have and are prepared to pay for it. They have invested money into their product and now need a return on their investment.

Is the crime really tax evasion? It's funny how both British and US goverments are looking at legalising certain drugs, but their main concern seems to be with policing the tax collection process.

By-the-way I don't do drugs, and only ever did the odd speed and ganja growing-up, but I do condemn those that can't keep control of themselves and become addicts, but I do not have an addictive nature so it is hard for me to comprehend so I'm not judging anybody

Once you see the misery drugs cause and the associated crimes to support the habit (robbery, violence) it's hard to have any sympathy with dealers.

If only there could be a safe way to legally allow all addicts to overdose, I'd be all for it. Let natural selection run its course. [-o<

Radical, but simple solution for the previous 2 posters - legalise and tax it.

For Phil, no more need for the associated crimes.

For Khondahm, do you imagine that all drug users overdose

By the very fact that some people are drug users, and others aren't, natural selection is taking its course.

What about petty theft? My neighbor has a nice motorcycle sitting outside all the time next to his car. I don't. What's the harm in me taking one for myself? I mean really? Why should he have two and I have none? :D

Societies make laws to govern themselves. It's no coincidence that such harmful drugs are illegal almost everywhere.

Spratt, do you honestly think that people willing to risk years in jail while it's illegal, are going to front up taxes on their dope if it was legal?

:-k Too much.

Phil, the associated drug crimes are as you say all the users, the dealers have their profession. But my point is the users want and they will get, why is it such a big deal who sells it to them, yes I understand that there are less dealers than users so the theory is take away the dealers and the users will have to stop. But in reality there is always someone somewhere else doing business, so it's not working users will still use and commit crime to feed their habbits.

I like to remind those discussing the use of drugs, that alcohol is the main drug and some of you are dealers!
Addiction is a disease caused by many different reasons, one being a genetic.Alcoholism is an addiction   This is not a criticism of those that sell alcohol or drink it,just a reminder that the illegality of other drugs is the main difference!

Also, some people that were just experimenting, become addicted for various reasons, some have no immediate control over the addictive process.

The expensivness of illegal drugs, will lead many drug addicts to dealing or other criminal activies, add to that the ''addiction''to money and riches that is common in human nature!

I have more friends from the drug''recovery community'',than the so-called ''straight''community, many that were ''dealers'' during their active addiction period!

That's the beauty of it, Pat. If it is legal, you can tax it at the source - as governments do today with "legal" drugs eg alcohol and nicotine :D

And at the stroke of a legislative pen, you can do away with the huge "illegal" drugs industry ie police, DEA, courts, prisons, etc etc.

Thinking is often a great alternative to reacting :D

Any other great ideas? :D

I wondered whether you would understand my last paragraph - clearly you did not

Great ideas emerge from open minds. I doubt you will make the grade.

Of course not, but in addition to helping them get off it, I sure as heck would want society to encourage and facilitate it! [-o< My personal opinion, mate.

Another great idealist out to save the world with creative eccentricity. No matter the harebrained schemes don't stand a snowball's chance in he11 working in the real world. Oh, if not for the silly, dimwit dreamers.

Here's an idea.

Legalize homicide to reduce carbon emissions through human respiration. :D
Better yet, put a bounty on each head. Calculate how many polar bears will be saved for every 20 humans killed. Take the cap-and-trade savings to supply crystal meth to suburbia Manchester.

Shounds likka brilleunt idear huh? :badteeth:
