Pizza in Udon Thani?

Postby truplya007 » July 13, 2010, 5:36 am

Last week I almost went crazy trying to find a pizza joint that was open after 9 PM. No matter where I went nobody was able to direct me to where I could satisfy my craving. I wasn’t even able to get any good recommendations as to where I should start. Oh I forgot, someone did mention Pizza Company, but who the hell wants that crap.

Does Udon not have a pizza place beside the Pizza Company? If that’s the case, someone could make a real killing opening up a shop with delivery service. I am sure many of the expats would love to have a good pizza delivered to their village at a decent price and after 9 pm at night.

The Thais seem to like Pizza Company even if you don't, so if you do not like the pizza in Udon, you know what you can do!

As for your other suggestion, it is a great one. I can just see pizzas getting delivered to ex-pats in villages from about 9 at night to midnight or after. 55555

Monkey Bar inside Nutty Park does some good pizza's. There are other places around but I can't think of the names off the top of my head.

You'll be hard pressed to find pizza after 9pm unless it's at your home in the freezer.

I've tried pizza from many places that have it, and in I like Pizza Company the best, but only their Italian sausage or pepperoni pizza. Their others I don't like and I've tried lots of them. Most times I prefer the crispy crust, but sometimes I want more bread so choose a thicker crust.

The wife uses their buy one get one free card for takeaway service. One goes to family, the other to me. Guess who pays?

I second the Piccola Roma suggestion.
It's very good -- the suggestion and the restaurant.

Where exactly is it, TP?

Across the overpass past Big C? South on the Ring Road past Big C? North on the Ring Road past Big C?

I'm looking for "real" pizza.

Best go back to the States, or take a short Flight to Oz cause you wont find one in Thailand

The Pizza Company gets my patronage because it has a convenient location and their pizzas are good.

Go past Big C heading to Sakorn Nakorn -- out past Thomas Resort.
Make a U turn, heading back into town.
It's on the left side about a kilometer (maybe a bit more) before you get to the ring road junction.
There's a lighted sign featuring the colors of the Italian flag out by the main road. The restaurant is 25-50 meters down the soi.

The pizza is good, but it's not the best on the menu. Try his fettuccini alfredo with a glass of wine ... delicious.

Agree with the others on Picolla Roma. Delicious Italian eats. Can't comment on their pizzas, haven't tried them.

The kids like Pizza Company but, I'll pass. Who ever heard of putting Thousand Island dressing on pizza??? :-&

When I was in Udon, last April, I though I saw a flier for Pizza Hut.

The only pizza my bride liked was the 7-11 pizza. WE had been down at a mall in BKK and I spotted a Pizza Hut. We'll eat there. The wife and kids hadn't had Pizza Hut before and loved it. It would be nice if PH has come to Udon. \:D/

You don't have to have thousand island. There's a choice of sauces (printed somewhere on the menu), Thousand Is, Pizza sauce and one other. We always ask for pizza sauce when ordering.

hah, in fact the Pizza company here in Udon started out as a Pizza Hut but the franchisee had a battle with the parent Pizza Hut management and broke off establishing Pizza Company.

I've had Piccolo Roma Pizza on several occassions over the years, It's OK.. I've only had one "can't stop eating even those it's volcano hot) pizza here in Thailand and that was in Hua Hin years ago.. Down in BKK they have NY Pizza that delivers and it's better than Pizza Hut or Pizza Co. by far and with Large Pizza being truly "large"..
